SIX Season 1 Episode 7 Review: Blood Brothers

It's hard to believe the mission is almost over.

On SIX Season 1 Episode 7, things got intense as Muttaqi remained resolute in turning over Michael and the girls to Boko Haram.

Command Is Watching - SIX

Rip is a master manipulator. He used his incomparable charm on Michael to learn more about him and his intentions.

What we learned is that Michael doesn't have faith or a soul, but he's adept at bringing in followers.

Still, all of his attempts and successes at bringing in a large number of recruits did nothing to change Muttaqi's mind about turning him over to Boko Haram.

The only thing Muttaqi was interested in was exchanging Rip for some Muslim fighters and he started negotiations to get that done.

He didn't care about Michael or Na'omi and the girls. Rip tried to convince Muttaqi to let the girls go, but he didn't want to hear any of it. The deal was made Boko Haram and that was that.

Michael is done for. And the girls too.

But if we are to believe that, then we have no faith in our soldiers. Or in Rip.

Rip has no intention of letting Na'omi and the girls fall into the hands of Boko Haram. He'll do whatever is necessary to save them, even if it means sacrificing his own life to do so.

Na'omi and the girls have faith in him too. It's unclear at this point how it will happen, but we can be sure Rip won't allow it without a fight.

In his attempt to manipulate Michael to stand up to Muttaqi, Rip shared some personal information of his own, including the reason why he became a SEAL. His dad beat him and that's what convinced him to become what he became.

We all have our reasons for doing what we do.

The team was worried about the tape Chase had found, but they suffered no consequences for it. Instead, the tape was used to help them pinpoint where Rip might be held.

But before they got the call to meet at HQ, all of them were dealing with family matters.

Lena dropped a bomb on Bear telling him at the cemetery that she didn't think they should have a child. That was rather surprising considering all the effort she went through to try to convince him they should.

Was her decision based on him telling her about his mission (which he shouldn't have done) or was it because of her talk with Rip's ex-wife?

Maybe it was both. Maybe Lena is just having a bad day. Or mayybe it was just bad timing that Bear got the call to meet at HQ just as they were getting ready to plant some flowers by Sarah's grave.

It can't be easy for Lena. Bear does seem to put his team first. It's not that he doesn't love or care about Lena, but his team is his family too, and it does seem that they matter more at times.

Buddha said as much when he told Bear why Rip wanted him to lead the team.

Bear is a warrior. He's willing to sacrifice it all for the team...including his own family.

Buddha had his own issues when his daughter informed him and Jackie she had no interest in going to dance school. Jackie was not happy about that, reminding the Annabel that her father was quitting the military so she could go to the school. It made no difference to the girl.

But if Annabel doesn't want to go to the school, does that mean Buddha can stay with the team?

It would make the most sense, especially considering that SIX just got picked up for a second season. How would the team be able to survive without Buddha?

Jackie isn't going to be very happy about it. She wasn't happy when Buddha got called to HQ. But the team is the team. Still, as Buddha told Bear, his family is just as important as the team.

While that may be true, Buddha needs the team as much as it needs him. Just like his own family. He's not ready to walk away. Not yet. Jackie is just going to have to get over it.

The team is at the cusp of finally rescuing Rip. Will they be able to save him and the girls? Will Michael escape or will he die for his cause before he even got started?

I have a feeling that maybe Rip is going to make the ultimate sacrifice for Na'omi and the girls. That's totally something he'd do at this point. There's nothing left for him back home.

Although, wouldn't it be nice if everything worked out and he was able to just stay with Na'omi and the girls. That that's how it ends? But this is TV and we all know better.

It's going to be intense ride with next week's season finale. How do you think it will all end? Hit the comments and share your thoughts.
