Annalise may have had some troubling times, but her career has officially risen from the ashes like a phoenix.
On How to Get Away with Murder Season 4 Episode 4, the disgraced lawyer worked with Caplan & Gold to help Soraya get a better outcome in her settlement with her husband.
That meant Annalise had to work with the firm's newest intern, Michaela, and she was not entirely impressed having to work with her old boss. In Michaela's mind, Annalise abandoned her.
Even though she hated Annalise by the end, Michaela had always remained loyal because she knew the consequences of speaking to anyone about her would be too detrimental to her career.
The most significant thing that came from the two women sparring was that Annalise theorized Michaela was looking for a mother figure in her life.
If you watch How to Get Away with Murder online, you already know Annalise's claim makes a lot of sense, and it's going to be interesting to see how Michaela battles with that going forward.
It would be great to see Annalise work with Caplan & Gold on a more permanent basis, but I have to agree with Bonnie: Annalise's aim is to get that chief public defender role, and she would probably kill to do so.
If she has to do some cases here and there for the firm, she will happily oblige. She needs to find a way to get some money coming in because she must be close to draining her bank account.
Obviously, Soraya will have given her a decent figure because Annalise's help ultimately saved her a whopping $5 million, but this class action lawsuit probably has a significant financial burden on her.
Maybe she should have taken that money from Frank. I know that Frank has been an ass in the past, but he's been trying to get back in Annalise's good books now for far too long.
It's time for him to realize that she's never going to be friendly with him again and move on. He would be wiser to invest the money in something that will benefit him in the long run.
Annalise sending the damning footage to Middleton University was absurd. That's not the type of email you send while multi-tasking. Annalise is generally such a smart woman, but what she did was plain dumb.
I can't be the only one who rolled my eyes when Laurel thought it was a good idea to sleep with Frank. I knew it was coming based on her increased libido earlier in the episode, but still, everything is going to be complicated again.
Just wait until Bonnie hears about it. She'll find a way to oust Laurel from the internship in a swift manner. That would be music to Denver's ears because he knows fine well Laurel is not about to let his part in the death of the love of her life slide.
The good thing is that he cannot hurt Laurel because her father would not allow it, but her father is going to be confused when he learns Laurel is working there and snooping around in the shadows.
I don't know what to make of everything with Connor. We watched him spiral on How to Get Away with Murder Season 3, so it would not be difficult to assume he is playing happy families with Oliver try and get away from all of the drama.
Jeff lived a lie for 45 years, and it's clear he does not want his son to do the same thing. I would like to know what type of man, exactly, Jeff would like his son to be in a relationship with.
Oliver would go to any lengths to make Connor happy. Yes, they had their issues earlier in the series, but they are finally in a good place, and it would be a real shame if it did emerge it was all an act.
Just wait until Oliver finds out about what was said. Would he continue to try and make Connor have a relationship with his two fathers? That's one of the more interesting questions right now.
Then there's the whole murder scene at Caplan & Gold. Are we to assume that Oliver takes on a job at the firm? The more we're learning about this mystery, the more I think that Connor is the one who dies.
There has been no official confirmation that someone really dies, but this is How to Get Away with Murder, and I doubt the producers would squander the opportunity to shock the audience.
"Was She Ever Good at Her Job?" was a solid episode that had a lot to love. Everything is falling into place for the characters now, and I cannot wait to find out what is going on in the flash-forwards.
