Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6 Review: The Gentleman's Name Is Gorgon

at .

Things are heating up between Maximus and the rest of the Royal Family in the latest chapter of Marvel's Inhumans.

If you think Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6 would be easy on our heroes, think again. Family reunions on comic book shows are usually not that simple.

A Marvelous Power Couple - Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6

We're two chapters away from wrapping Marvel's Inhumans Season 1. Because of that, I expected things in this story to feel bigger.

It still feels that the show is holding back and letting itself be as big as we expected it to be. The fight sequences have been off-and-on in the last couple of episodes.

It's not that the action is bad, it's more that it doesn't stand out from all the various comic book shows. So far, I think Gorgon is the one that has gotten to use his powers the most.

But all the action scenes we get are not that mind-blowing. Because Medusa had her hair shaved off, there is only so much you can do with her.

We know the deal with Black Bolt, but I'm praying the finale will have some great Black Bolt action. It's odd that Black Bolt, the Inhuman, is side-lined so much.

Can Louise Tag Along - Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6

That is a shame because, with a great actor like Anson Mount, he should have more focus. It has become abundantly clear over the course of this season that Black Bolt is not being used enough.

It's almost ridiculous how limited his screen time is in every episode. When we do see him on screen, he is crushing it. His argument with Medusa was something that I would have watched more of than Crystal's silly love story.

Is there anything to say about Maximus at this point? He is killing people here and there as he has gone full-on evil.

I didn't find his involvement in the flashbacks particularly interesting. The side-plot in the present was intriguing though because that was his only obstacle.

But screw that, he got to out master them all which makes Maximus too powerful of a big bad. This is the problem when you have only eight episodes for your show. Things have to pace fast.

Feel The Wind - Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6

I was looking forward to seeing at least one more episode of Maximus not knowing what was up. But I guess we don't always get what we want.

Does anyone else feel bad for Bronaja who is basically being used as Maximus' personal magic 8-ball? Because I sure do!

Speaking of feeling bad for people, Louise did not have it easy here, did she? This was what I expected of her character to end up at, as only the guide for this family until they were done with her.

I understand why Medusa didn't want to take Louise to Attilan due to the danger. But they could have done it better where Louise didn't feel like a band-aid that was taken off and thrown away.

Ideally, the final two episodes will have a solid payoff for her after everything she did for the family. But I'm almost doubting it because they have so much to wrap up.

Things Turn Disasterous - Marvel's Inhumans

Even though we saw Gorgon's dead body...is he 100% dead? With comic book shows, you have to be careful when it comes to "deaths". In one scene they can look dead, but then in the next they are somehow alive.

I don't know what the chances are that Gorgon is still alive. It sure didn't work out for Triton did it? Either he is conveniently hiding in the ocean for some reasons. Or he is dead too.

Even though I appreciate stakes and consequences, it doesn't need to be through character deaths. Especially in a show's first season. If Gorgon is truly dead, then I'll miss him as he was one of the highlights of Marvel's Inhumans.

Overall, "The Gentlemen's Name Is Gorgon" was a decent hour of Marvel's Inhumans Season 1. Things are indeed beginning to come full circle, but it is missing a wow-factor.

Certain characters are beginning to show how underused they have been. Time will tell if someone like Black Bolt will get his spotlight the way he deserves.

With only two chapters left, the show will hopefully have saved its best to last. Now it's your turn to let us know what you thought of Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6!

Are you sad that Gorgon is dead? Do you think he might still be alive?

Marvel's Inhumans Season 1 Episode 6 Quotes

Karnak: Dear, dear Mordis, it's been a long time.
Mordis: The all-powerful Karnak! Hiding, are we? I've heard that you like to tell your enemies all the different ways you can defeat them. So let me give you the chance to do so right now. Please, show me your genius!
Karnak: Do you remember the first day you came out of Terrigenesis? So scared, so alone. How many did you harm that day? How horrible you must have felt.
Mordis: I didn't ask for this gift!
Karnak: That's exactly what I told the genetic council! But they didn't care, they wanted to put you down. How I pleaded for your life!
Mordis: Black Bolt was just as dangerous! But he was given far more opportunities than I was. It was me who got locked up in that cell!
Karnak: But that is what kept you alive...
Mordis: No! Being locked away is not being alive.
Karnak: Yeah you are right, mistakes were made. But that was then. Maybe from this moment forward, things can be different.

Medusa: Why did I bring my parents up? I brought them up because when you became king, you said you never wanted to be like your own parents or like any other king before you. I'm reminding you that you promised me that you'd be more understanding!
Black Bolt: [signs]
Medusa: Yes he hurt me and there was a part of me that wants him to pay for that, but we have to be bigger than that. So does that answer your question? No, no we don't let him just walk away. We give him a fair trial, we let the people decide!
