Shooter will return for another season of crazy drama in 2018!
Series star, Ryan Phillippe took to Instagram to confirm the show was in pre-production on Season 3, and that it would span 13 episodes.
"hey guys!," Ryan began his statement about the show's future.
"We’re out here in utah, training for...season 3 of #ShooterTV!!"
"Preproduction has officially begun, and we start shooting new episodes this january! we know a lot of you have been waiting for this news, and we’re happy to be back! we can’t wait for you to see what’s in store this season."
The news comes three months after Shooter Season 2 came to a grinding halt weeks early due to an injury Phillippe suffered away from the set.
The third season will be loosely based on Black Light, which is the second book in the series which the show as adapted from.
Bob Lee will be trying to move on after all of the crazy events that have transpired in his life, but a villain will appear intent on causing some trouble for him.
In fact, the villain will have some intel on what paved the way for the death of Bob Lee's father so that it will be a big deal.
The series lost took a dip in the ratings during its most recent season, and that's likely why fans were concerned about the lack of news about new episodes.
Season 2 averaged 1.2 million viewers and a 0.35 rating among adults 18-49. The demo tally is down almost 30 percent vs. Shooter Season 1.
