Jennifer Carpenter might be returning to TV!
Per TV Line, the beloved Dexter star has snagged a lead role in The Enemy Within, a pilot in the works at NBC.
Carpenter has been added to the cast as CIA operations deputy Erica Wolfe, who is an intelligent codebreaker who finds herself thrust into the world of counterintelligence.
Erica learned her deciphering craft from her father, so it sure sounds like we may have a family of CIA officers.
Carpenter previously appeared on Showtime's Dexter as Debra Morgan aka the sister of Michael C. Hall's murderous Dexter Morgan.
While Carpenter had already appeared in movies, Dexter served as her first significant TV role, and the show won critical acclaim as well strong ratings for the cable network.
Jennifer returned to TV in 2015 on the TV adaptation of Limitless. It lasted just one season before being canceled by CBS.
Carpenter will be joined on The Enemy Within by Rosewood grad, Morris Chestnut.
Chestnut will take on the role of FBI counter-intelligence agent Will Keaton.
It will be penned by Gotham writer, Ken Woodruff, who will also serve as an executive producer on the show if it goes to series.
It was previously announced that Code Black's Raza Jaffrey had landed a role on the series, which is scheduled to go into production on its pilot in the next few weeks.
