NBC is adding some more star power to its pilot of the Bad Boys spinoff.
Yes, we know the project already has Gabrielle Union attached to star, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, there is yet another big name making her way back to the small screen.
That actress is Jessica Alba, and we are freaking out about it. Alba has been added to the cast as a co-lead with Union.
The official logline for the new series reads as follows:
"Free-spirited former DEA agent Syd Burnett (Union) has a fresh start in her new job as an LAPD detective. She’s partnered with Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom who can’t help but look at Syd’s freedom with some grass-is-greener envy."
"These two have totally different lifestyles and approaches, but they both are at the top of their fields in this action-packed, character-driven procedural."
As you are likely already aware if you are a fan of the movies, Union had a role in Bad Boys II as Syd, so she is reprising her role in this highly anticipated TV series.
As for Jessica, she is no stranger to the small screen. She had a starring role in Fox's Dark Angel from 2000-2002. In recent years, the actress has focused on her movie career as opposed to appearing on the small screen.
She has appeared on a string of reality shows as a guest judge over the years, but the untitled NBC drama will serve as her big return to the small screen.
We could not imagine a better pair leading a show than Union and Alba, so we will be sampling the show if it makes it to the air.
