Younger Season 5: Everything We Know So Far

at .  Updated at .

It's been half a year since Josh married Claire in an impromptu wedding in Ireland after professing his love to Liza and also since Liza got a missed call from Charles who was probably ready to also profess his love for her. Drama, right?

Well, the wait to find out what happens is finally over when Younger Season 5 premieres on June 5th!

Here's what we know so far about the upcoming season featuring your favorite publishing squad from the Big Apple.

1. Charles Michael Davis Will be a Series Regular

In-Zane at Empirical! Kelsey's hook-up turned work rival Zane Anders (The Originals' Charles Michael Davis) has been upgraded to series regular. This isn't much of a surprise since he accepted a senior editor position at Empirical in the Younger Season 4 finale so he'll likely have a lot more to do. Good for us (and our eyes), bad for Kelsey who will be dangerously mixing business with pleasure.

2. He's in a Relationship with Kelsey

Like I said above, Kelsey and Zane are involved but plot-twist, she's also seeing someone else. Kelsey has two "boos" which doesn't sit well with Liza. Though Kels makes a good point in the Younger Season 5 trailer, she's not one to judge: "You’ve been gaslighting an entire company since I first met you. Can I have one secret?"

3. All The Cliffhangers Will Be Answered

Why did Charles call Liza in the final moments of season 4? Why did Josh profess his love for Liza and then marry Claire? Why did Liza stand by idly and watch it all happen? It will be addressed!. The premiere will kick off with Liza and Josh's reunion in New York after he returns from Ireland. Keyword being "HE" returns.

4. Claire is Stuck in Ireland

For those who aren't #TeamClaire, this might be music to your ears. Claire doesn't arrive in NYC with Josh, but the writers confirm she will appear a few episodes into the season. They have to make this marriage look authentic after all!

5. Liza Doesn't Know What Sliding Into the DM's Means...

Oh, millennial lingo. We can't blame Liza for not keeping up -- she's not twenty-six! But we can blame Josh for doing the sliding since he is married to Claire. What did he want from Liza? Was he just thanking her for coming to the wedding? Or not telling Claire he almost had a change of heart a few hours before?

6. We're No Longer Keeping Up with Liza's Lies

"If there is one over-arching idea about this season, it's that things get real," Younger boss Darren Star said. "I don't think this season is as much about, 'Can [Liza] sustain her lie?' It's more about, 'Can she sustain her relationships with characters that she loves?'" Does this mean Charles is going to find out the whole truth and nothing but the truth? So help her God...

7. Darren Star Loves the Premiere Episode

Star claimed that the first episode is one of his favorite episodes of the series. He even added that the narrative could have been the the Season 4 finale. "I think the end of this first episode just changes the equation for the entire series going forward, and it doesn't happen until the very, very final moment of the episode. You have to keep watching -- even past the point where you think the episode is over, because it happens in the very last moment," Star hints. During the table-read teaser, the cast's shocked expressions and reactions, notably Foster's, added to the intrigue. What do you think has everyone so floored? Is Liza pregnant with someone's baby?

8. 'Marriage Vacation' is a Hit!

Good news for Empirical and Pauline! Her book "Marriage Vacation" made Reese's Book Club List. One of the show's earlier teasers, which you can watch in 360-view, revealed the news. I bet Charles is just beaming with pride that the whole world can read what's on Page 58.

9. We Finally Find Out What's on Page 58

Speaking of page 58! The fictional book about Pauline's marriage to Charles has been turned into an actual novel that we'll be able to add to our "books from popular TV shows collection." While it won't debut until the summer, the publishers leaked the contents of that specific page to entice readers and man, it is juicy! Not as juicy as Diana made it seem when she had a slip of the tongue while addressing Charles with the excerpt still fresh in her mind, but still, juicy.

10. Sutton's Real Life Ex-Husband Makes a Guest Appearance

As if she wasn't confused enough! Sutton Foster's ex-husband and frequent collaborator Christian Borle will appear as journalist Don Ridley, a man who intrigues Liza and who she'll later confide in. And by confide in I mean she's going to use him to try to get over Josh as it seems he's the other man she's kissing in the trailer. Ridley is scheduled to appear in the fourth episode for a two-episode arc.

11. Broadway's Laura Benanti to Guest Star

Tony Award winner Laura Benanti is also joining fellow Tony performer Sutton Foster for a few episodes. She will play self-made billionaire, Quinn, who comes to Empirical and pitches an "approach to business" book. She'll also appear for a two-arc episode much like Sutton's Tony ex-husband Charles. It would be a crime not to have all of them perform a sing-song. Maybe we can turn it into a musical episode? People love those!

12. Liza and Kelsey's Fashion is Still Questionable

Look, the average salary for a publishing assistant in New York is $38-thousand so you can't blame them for dressing the way that they do. I'm joking, obviously. These ladies can pull off anything, but most of their pieces are high-fashion ensembles that are way out of their budget. Maybe they shop at thrift stores?

13. They'll Tackle #MeToo

Remember Princess Pam Pam? Well, she's going to be part of the #MeToo movement. The storyline will examine sexual harassment in the workplace via fictional George R.R. Martin-inspired author Edward L.L. Moore. Charles and Diana question Liza if he'd "ever crossed a line" to which Liza replies, "he's a flirty old man but he never crossed the line, no." You would think that the revealing outfit they made her wear would speak for itself.

14. Sutton May Be More Confused Than Liza Is

Sutton loves both Charles and Josh, but for Season 5 purposes she's firmly #TeamCharles. "They’ve had all these moments where they come together and then something comes up. What I’m hoping is that season five will give them a shot and we’ll see what that is. I can’t say that’s the end of Josh, so I don’t know. It’s Younger. You know they’re going to be pulling some crazy sh*t out, so I can’t try to predict it," she admitted. Truth.

15. Maggie Has a New Love Interest

Maggie is moving on from Lauren with some mystery blonde that she's snoggin in the Season 5 trailer! Who is this woman? Could it be Pauline? The blonde hair looks similair. Weirder things have happened -- remember Thad got crushed to death by a construction beam. All I know is, Maggie deserves some happiness.

16. Diana Might Have a New Man

Diana and her oversized necklaces need some good lovin' ollowing all the lousy relationships! Hopefully, this one doesn't come with emotional baggage and a needy son!

17. And It's Still Only 30-Minutes a Week

Don't worry, I expressed my concerns to Peter Hermann on Instagram and he acknowledged my comment which basically means he's hoping TV Land will give them an hour long time slot, too.

Wow. If she was OK with the sex change, maybe this won't be such a big deal.
