Working with psychopaths can be dangerous, especially if you have a soul.

Teresa risked everything on Queen of the South Season 3 Episode 3, her budding empire, her crew, and her life because she couldn't turn a blind eye to Rocco de la Peña's human trafficking operation. 

She couldn't do it, especially once she put a face and a name to the women being tortured and sold. 

You once told me I was better than Camila because I had a heart. This is what that looks like.

James and Pote weren't wrong in trying to dissuade Teresa from this path, but they weren't right either. Rescuing this one shipment of women wouldn't stop the cartel or de la Peña from doing it again. 

Not only was he getting paid to move these women and sell them but he was enjoying using them as his playthings to rape, drug, and mutilate at will. 

No, stopping this one shipment wouldn't change the world, but it would certainly change the world for those women that Teresa decided to save. 

And it was oddly comforting to see Teresa, Pote, James, and King George all working together despite their reservations about one another and the mission. 

They're just scared for you is all. Psychopaths can be unpredictable, kind of like courageous woman.

King George

When King George first arrived on Queen of the South Season 2, I wasn't a fan. From the crazy attitude to the giant pistol to the gold Speedo, he was too over the top for me.

My how things have changed. 

Now George has become one of my favorite characters and not just because I get all of his movie references, although that's a plus.

I love George's sense of humor, how he can get away with joking with Pote and calling him Chewy, to his yelling out, "No one puts Bilal in a corner!" in the middle of a fight. 

But most of all I love how much he respects Teresa. King George has earned the loyalty of his crew, and he sees that Teresa does the same. Perhaps King George wouldn't give his life for Teresa like Pote, but he'd come damn close.

As for the rest of Teresa's crew, Pote still doesn't trust James. Heck, I still don't completely trust James. I can only hope that he's true to his word and wants to work with Teresa, or more importantly, for her.  

Of course, if James ever does plan on turning on Teresa, he'd better plan to take out Pote first because even with a badly injured shooting hand the man is still fierce. 

James and Pote's talk was both horrifying and peculiarly humorous as I couldn't help but laugh at James' reaction in this Queen of the South quote...

Pote: My brother kept a weasel as a pet when we were niños. Found it as a baby. Gave it the bottle, slept with it like it was a stuffed animal. My parents trusted that weasel with my brother like it was a dog. One night when my brother was sleeping the weasel clawed out one of his eyes and ate it.
James: Sad ending.
Pote: Especially for the weasel.
James: Good talk.

There's no question that Pote could have left James behind when that airplane took off, but he chose not to, whether it was out of respect for Teresa or because he's beginning to believe that James isn't a threat remains to be seen. 

Teresa will need her crew to be stronger than ever now that she's made an enemy out of Rocco de la Peña.

Just don't ever screw me. I do the screwing in my world, okay?

Perhaps some of the women she saved could have a future in Teresa's organization. Most people would think that Teresa saving these women was a weakness, but what if it turns out to be a strength?

Teresa has certainly earned the loyalty of those women and having even one of them align themselves with her would make for an interesting twist. 

And courage and loyalty will be vital in staying ahead of both Rocco de la Peña and Camila. 

Camila was so focused on getting revenge on Teresa that she might have been missing the weasel right under her nose because the more she dismisses Boaz, the more of a threat he becomes. 

Revenge is like any drug, it can please you or it can rule you. Obsession will kill logic when you need it most.

Cortez

Although Camila realizes that Cortez is a dangerous man, she seems to give him a lot of rope, and I fear he'll hang her before himself. 

Isabela pushing her mother and Cortez to dance was bold and devious. She wants to become a player in this game, but she knows she needs Camila to show her the way. 

Isabela went from spoiled brat to a young woman with ambitions to run a cartel almost overnight. Well, not quite overnight. It took a kidnapping and the death of her father for her to see the world through different eyes. 

The one thing she lacks, much like her mother, is the ability to get her hands dirty. 

Teresa, on the other hand, is capable of fighting to the death if necessary because she's had to to survive.

I have to believe that that will be the deciding factor in who will come out on top. Somehow I have trouble picturing Camila dragging a dead woman around to have her retina scanned, yet I wonder if Isabela will end up being even more ruthless.
