The Walking Dead Star Slams Rick Grimes Storyline: It Sucked!

The Walking Dead has come up against a lot of criticism over the years, and the latest serving of it comes courtesy of former series regular Michael Cudlitz.

The popular actor was unimpressed with the way Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) retaliated to the evil ways of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

"Let’s be real clear, if he was gonna kill anyone other than me and I had a choice, it would be Rick," Cudlitz said at Walker Stalker Con Atlanta, reports Comicbook.com.

"Because how many more people was that asshole gonna get killed? "'Hey, I got a plan, let’s show up to where all the Saviours are with 500 weapons, have them step 15 feet out into the balcony unarmed, and shoot the windows out above his head.' You all know that sucked."

If you watch The Walking Dead online, you know that Cudlitz starred as Abraham on the AMC hit. He was brutally killed off on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1 at the hands of Negan.

Stop Bleeding All Over That Beautiful Horse, Rick! - The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 5

That season largely focused on the aftermath of Negan's actions as Rick and his people tried to find a way to get the upper hand on the supervillain.

On The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 1, Rick turned to his allies and attacked the Sanctuary aka the place the Saviors once called home.

"It was like the A-Team showed up,” Cudlitz said.

“He’s right there! He’s right there! He walks out the door. It’s not even like he peeks out. He’s like ‘Well, Rick! Ha ha ha! We better run!’”

Cudlitz admitted that he “didn’t care for that moment, in case anyone isn’t aware of that.”

“It’s like one of those things where you’re so into something, and then you’re like, ‘really, guys?’” Cudlitz said. “I get pissed off because I love it.”

Cudlitz need not to worry about Rick's actions anymore because Andrew Lincoln exited the series during The Walking Dead Season 9.

However, the actor will be staying with the franchise since AMC has ordered a trio of movies to follow Rick wherever he ends up after being taken away on a helicopter and presumed dead by his friends and family.
