Friends From College Canceled After Two Seasons

Netflix is unfriending Friends from College.

The streamer has canceled the comedy series after just two seasons, the show's creator, Nicholas Stoller has confirmed.

"Friends from College will not be returning for a third season," he shared via Twitter, adding:

"Thanks to everyone who watched it. Happy Presidents’ Day!"

The series starred Cobie Smulders, Keegan-Michael Key, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage, Jae Suh Park, and Billy Eichner as a group of friends in New York City.

In a statement, Netflix thanked EPs Stoller and Francesca Delbanco “for creating a wise, funny and supremely relatable show,” while also praising the “hard-working crew” and “amazingly talented cast.”

Friends from College launched in 2017 and had a lowly 24 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes with many critics taking issue with the characters being unlikeable.

Given the tedious reviews, it was surprising Netflix even renewed it for a sophomore run, but you can't deny the streamer gave the show a fighting chance at success.

The second and final season launched on Netflix back in January.

The cancellation came just hours after Netflix completed its mission to cancel all of the Marvel TV shows it aired.

Jessica Jones and The Punisher were the final two shows awaiting word on their futures. Sadly, The Punisher was canceled after its second and now final season had already aired.

Jessica Jones, however, still has a whole season left to air, and Krysten Ritter seemingly confirmed that her show would have a conclusion.

"The final season of #JessicaJones is coming later this year and I am proud of how we complete JJ’s journey, she shared on Instagram.

"I can’t wait for you all to see it. Stay tuned and more to come.”
