Starring opposite of Younger's lead, Sutton Foster as Liza, Tortorella's Josh has been an integral character the to series.

Focusing on a middle-aged woman who pretends to be younger to score employment after years out of the marketplace, Josh plays the younger man who fell for Liza, never giving her age a second thought.

Tortorella won fans over in an instant, and as a new father on the show, their relationship is still thriving with Liza even after they broke up.

So a new role on The Walking Dead sure seems like it could create a conflict, right?

Younger Renewed for Season 7 at TV Land

Wrong! Here's what we know.

The as-yet-untitled spinoff will focus on the first generation to come of age after the apocalypse as we know it on The Walking Dead.

What Do I Do? - Younger Season 6 Episode 1

Some will become heroes. Some will become villains, but all of them will be changed forever in the end.

Tortorella will play Felix, described as an honorable man of his word who isn't afraid to fight for others' safety and acceptance.

As an ardent supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, it sounds like the perfect role for Tortorella, who identifies as non-binary.

And the word is that their casting will not interfere with the production of Younger, which has just been renewed for a seventh season.

Tortorella joins several others who have been previously cast including Annet Mahendru, Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, and Hal Cumpston.

Mehandru will play a woman named Huck, and Royale is set to play Iris.

Mansour is cast as Hope, a rebel whose sense of humor is masked by her inner sadness, Cantu as Elton, a karate kid who is small for his age, and Cumpston as Silas, a loner who relishes in the fact that he scares those around him.

From what we understand, the spinoff will exist in its own universe and have a look unique from The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead.

The spinoff, which will premiere in the spring of 2020, recently released a teaser featuring those already cast.

The teaser, which can be seen below, features the cast members teasing with the following:

What if you grew up in a world of safety and you decided to leave? To discover the truth of who you are and what the world really is. You know, growing up.

There have been things going on in The Walking Dead universe since the very start of the story, all happening over all these years -- in other places we haven’t seen, with people we haven’t seen, with the dead we haven’t seen. But we’ll see it all this spring.

The Walking Dead Quotes

Shane: What's the difference between men and women.
Rick: Is this a joke?
Shane: No serious. I've never met a woman who knew how to turn off the light. Born thinking the switch only goes one way: on.

Hey you. Dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Cozy in there?
