Arrow Finishes Filming and the Cast Reacts

It's the end of an era for The CW's Arrowverse.

The show that kickstarted the successful superhero franchise that helped change the direction of the network's programming has officially wrapped filming.

Six episodes remain, and the series will conclude with a two-hour event on Tuesday, January 28.

To mark the somber occasion, the cast and crew of the hit drama took to social media to pay tribute.

Leading man Stephen Amell started things off earlier this week when he wrote the following:

"Tonight is the last night I wear the Arrow suit."

Oliver Queen - Arrow Season 8 Episode 4

Consulting producer Marc Guggenheim took to Twitter with a statement he wrote from himself and current showrunner, Beth Schwartz.

It reads as follows:

To the best cast and crew in the business:

It's hard to believe that today is here: the final day of production on ARROW.

We are so incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for helping us bring this show to life.

Oliver Queen - Arrow Season 8 Episode 3

What this show has accomplished is no small feat.

Eight seasons. One hundred and seventy episodes.

A multiverse of TV shows. The biggest crossovers in television history.

All thanks to you and the countless others that have been a part of this show.

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of Arrow's final story. It has been an honor.

All our best,

Beth & Marc

We're not crying, you're crying!

Schwartz followed that post up by talking about the first time she was on the set with Stephen Amell.

Heading up to Vancouver for the last time for #Arrow.

The first time I flew up was for episode 115. I was the first writer to be on set and @StephenAmell asked if I was Canadian cause I raided the Roots store across from my hotel.

Thea - Arrow Season 8 Episode 3

I ordered a milkshake to my room after my very first night shoot and thought - wow, I really made it.

I didn’t realize then that going to Vancouver would become the norm over the next 8 years. That I would meet amazing people and work with incredible talent.

I will miss my trips to Vancouver but will be forever grateful for this crazy and wonderful ride.

David Ramsey, who plays Diggle, shared the following:

Katie Cassidy shared a behind the scenes photo, while remembering her time on the series with a sweet statement.

Juliana Harkavy shared a photo she took the day she found out she was cast on the show.

“I took this photo almost four years ago. I’d just gotten off a call with Warner Bros. where I learned my life was about to change forever. My journey on Arrow had begun,” she wrote on Instagram.

Dinah - Arrow Season 8 Episode 4

“I hope you enjoy this final season. And I hope when you look back, you’ll find this story has moved you, inspired you, and changed you for the better. Because of #Arrow, I have been changed, for good.”

I took this photo almost 4 years ago. I’d just gotten off a call with Warner Bros. where I learned my life was about to change forever. My journey on Arrow had begun, and I would be moving to Vancouver in a few days. I took this picture because I wanted to remember the feeling I had in that moment. The overwhelming excitement. The immense gratitude. At the time I had no idea where this adventure would lead. I didn’t know this show would have such an outstanding lifespan, or how many people, young and old, I would be able to meet and help through playing this character. Or how they would help me. Most of all, I didn’t know the greatest gift was waiting on the other side of the border. My cast. Who would welcome me with open arms and become my greatest source of strength. My soulmates. My family. And Stephen, our gracious and unwavering leader, to whom I am eternally grateful. Today begins our last week on Arrow. As thankful as I felt the day this photo was taken, nothing could describe how much that love and gratitude has grown. I am so proud of our cast, crew, writers, and producers. I hope you enjoy this final season. And I hope when you look back, you’ll find this story has moved you, inspired you, and changed you for the better. Because of #Arrow, I have been changed, for good. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🖤🏹

Colin Donnell opened up about  meeting Amell “and seeing the amount of sushi he was gonna down post-training session,” as well as “our first day of shooting spent laying on a wet pallet, and not wanting it to end."

“I’m proud to have been a part of it over the last eight seasons,” the actor continued, “but here’s what’s even more wonderful: I have always said that as I move from job to job, I’m lucky if I get to keep ONE good friend after I move on. With Arrow I’ve kept more than I thought possible.”

Tommy Merlyn - Arrow Season 8 Episode 1

Katherine McNamara may have joined Arrow during its penultimate season, but it had a profound effect on her.

“When I began this job, I was poised and ready, excited to jump in and take on a legacy of being Olicity’s kid — to create such a rich, conflicted character based on a beloved relationship built by two brilliant actors for whom i have so much respect," the actress shared on Twitter

Mia Smoak in Trouble - Arrow Season 8 Episode 3

“What I found was a family who welcomed me in… who joined and supported my enthusiasm in bringing Moa Smoak-Queen to life,” she added. “No matter what the future holds, long live Star City.”
