It's almost time to return to the world of Doctor Who.
BBC America dropped the official trailer for the upcoming twelfth season of the sci-fi trailer over the weekend.
Jodie Whittaker is back for her second turn in the TARDIS, and it looks to be considerably darker than before.
The Doctor is tasked with protecting "the security of this entire planet," and that can only mean one thing:
More villains for the gang to go up against.
However, things take a dangerous turn when the doctor is transported back to 1943 Paris and immediately gets the sense that something is after her.
“Something’s coming for me," she warns. "I can feel it.”
Stephen Fry (Bones) and Lenny Henry (Broadchurch) are slated to appear on Doctor Who Season 12 Episode 1, airing in early 2020.
Goran Višnjić (Timeless) and Robert Glenister are also set to appear.
Glenister previously appeared on the series in 1984, but it's unclear whether he will be playing the same character.
Speaking ahead of his debut Doctor Who appearance, Višnjic said, "I've always been a huge fan of Doctor Who, so when the offer to play one of my favorite people in history came, it made me so happy to be part of the show and it turned into this awesome, dream job!"
Glenister said, "I first appeared in Doctor Who in 'The Caves of Androzani' at the tender age of 24 in 1984. 35 years later, I got to be in it again at the not-so-tender age of nearly 60. How time flies!"
Matt Strevens, Executive Producer, said: "One of the great joys of Doctor Who is the legendary actors who want to come and join in the Doctor's adventures. We were thrilled to welcome Goran and Robert, whose worked we've loved and admired for years. They create two iconic characters who are going to delight and entertain."
Doctor Who Season 11 aired back in 2018, so fans have been waiting a while for new episodes.
That season closed with everyone taking on villain Tim Shaw, who showed up to exact revenge on the Doctor and the planet.
Tosin Cole (Ryan), Mandip Gill (Yaz), and Bradley Walsh (Graham), who are all returning for their second season.
