Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7 Review: Shoot From the Hip

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful, but if you're a Carrington, it's also a time of revenge.

On Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7, that revenge came from Cristal Carrington after she realized she was being played by Adam, again.

Adam and Nadia teamed up to get her out of the picture, literally, to convince Blake that Adam was the only family member he could rely on.

But this back-and-forth game of pettiness was expected from Adam and Cristal.

They've been going at each other's throats for weeks now; it brought nothing new to the table.

What wasn't expected? The revelation that Fallon was paying Nadia to "get close" to Adam.

I had to pick my jaw back up off the floor.

Why did I ever doubt our girl?

Adam: Are you leaving Liam alone for Thanksgiving?
Fallon: Of course you're there, lurking like an AV kid at prom.
Adam: Uhm, do you think that's such a good idea given his issues? Aren't you worried about a backslide?
Fallon: What, like Liam getting back together with Ashley? No, no. You don't go back to eating ground beef after you've had filet mignon. At least not twice.

Nadia has been suspicious since her arrival, but we've all been speculating that she had it out for either Fallon or Cristal.

It never even crossed my mind that she could have been tasked with cozying up to Adam, though, it does explain why she's so eager to help him out with his deranged plans.

Fallon's motives aren't entirely clear yet, but it's reassuring to know that she's not always one step behind Adam.

For the longest time, it felt like she was getting played consistently by him when in reality, she's been playing the long game.

Allowing Adam to believe that his relationship with Nadia happened organically makes it easier for her to manipulate him.

And that's what she's been doing since she arrived. It explains why she told Adam that Blake signed over everything in his will to Cristal.

As she said, she's got him "wrapped around her finger" so whatever she suggests, he's likely going to follow her lead.

Let's just hope that Nadia isn't actually falling for him.

There was a brief moment where Cristal let her guard down and tried to help Adam bake a pie, and it was kind of nice.

If she hadn't seen him holding hands with Nadia, they probably could have buried the hatchet.

Showing Adam kindness seemed to encourage him to be a better person, at least temporarily.

They could have made a dynamic team if they could've put aside their competitive nature.

I doubt it's possible to rehabilitate someone who pushed his birth mother into the fireplace, but his blindness is giving him a new perspective.

You're Back! - Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7

At the very least, I don't immediately want to change the channel whenever he's on-screen. That's an improvement.

You could smell Sammy's love interest from a mile away.

It's so cliche that any male character that gets introduced is immediately going to be Sammy's squeeze.

Fletcher's motives seem pure for now, but one can never be too careful on a series filled with backstabbing and drama.

We have to keep Fletcher at arm's length because it's not just Sammy who could get hurt, it's his business, too.

Sammy was able to generate some positive buzz for himself and the hotel by feeding the homeless the most lavish dinner ever.

And it was a solid idea, no doubt.

But apparently, one good idea convinced Anders that he wasn't needed to help manage the hotel anymore.

From a logical standpoint, this doesn't make much sense. Sammy still has no idea what he's doing, but from a storytelling perspective, there's only so much Anders can do when he's limited to interactions with Kirby, Sammy, and sometimes Culhane.

He's put to better use at the Manor and boy, does Blake need him!

Darren wasn't living up to any expectations -- he couldn't even make a damn Manhattan the way Anders did.

Blake's impending trial allowed him to change up his attitude and have a self-reflective holiday.

The Trio - Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7

His melancholic state is likely temporary since he's feeling his mortality, for lack of better terms, but it's nice to see him appreciate his wealth and his family on this rare occasion.

It's concerning, yes, but it's also refreshing.

Despite not saying it often, Blake's grateful to have them. Family is everything, even when they're this dysfunctional.

While there were plenty of feel-good moments, the episode fell into a bit of a lull for me, especially when it came to Fallon and Liam's relationship.

I'm Back! - Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7

His "bromance" with Landon felt out of place, and Fallon's attempts to get Landon's attention were painfully unsuccessful. She doesn't need that kind of person on her team.

People should be begging to work with her -- she's a savvy businesswoman that comes from a family that can turn anything into money.

The biggest concern about Fallon finally getting her happy ending with Liam is that their relationship will lose that dynamic and sexiness that made us fall in love with it in the first place.

Landon would not be ducking me if I were a man, and no one ducks Fallon Carrington.

Fallon

That's kind of how this episode felt.

It also doesn't help that there's just something different about this new version of Liam.

He doesn't seem to be as smitten with Fallon as he was previously despite remembering everything. He didn't even feel like the same man who said all those sweet things at the Fallon Unlimited launch.

Plan in Motion - Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7

Maybe it was just an off day for them? Let's hope that's it.

Liam also once again made a statement that alluded to Fallon's feelings being insignificant.

When she didn't want to have dinner with him on Dynasty Season 3 Episode 6 because it was too hard for her emotionally, Liam didn't seem to even grasp how much his amnesia affected her.

Landon: Did you just shoot me?
Fallon: Maybe.

And he did that again during this trip. Yes, being the victim of memory loss is hard, but being the person who got forgotten is traumatizing as well.

It's not a competition, so why does Liam keep pointing out that he's the only victim?

My interest in the Dominique storyline continues to waver, but Vanessa found a way to pull me back in when she threw her mother under the bus at Monica's Thanksgiving dinner.

I like this girl.

Hotel Problems - Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7

She's a spit-fire, she doesn't care if she upsets her mother, and while she seems to want a career, she's done playing by her mother's rules.

Vanessa finally realized that her association with Dominique might do her more harm than good.

She saw that Monica was a good person and her mother was just using her without any plan ever to tell her daughter the truth.

Dominique may have raised Vanessa, but she's nothing like her.

Culhane proved once again that he could not take down anyone, even a second-hand Carrington.

Turkey Day Hunting - Dynasty Season 3 Episode 7

How did he not anticipate that Dominique would get the necessary ammunition to push back against his threats?

All this time in the Carrington fold, and he's learned nothing.
