There was high drama on the Madam Secretary set on Friday, and it was most definitely not scripted.
According to TMZ, police were called to the set of the CBS drama series when a fight broke out among background actors.
This is said to have played out immediately after leading lady Tea Leoni filmed a scene in which she delivered a speech.
The outlet states that a background actor started a fight at the snacks and refreshments table. Yes, really.
Yes, this whole thing seemingly kicked off because of food.
Apparently, there were over a hundred background actors involved in the scene above, and things are said to have taken a horrifying turn when they "swarmed" the coffee and snacks table during a break.
TMZ says that one actor cut the line, and a female staffer on the set told him to get to the back.
The actor allegedly responded by shoving the staffer out of the way, but her husband swiftly arrived on the scene and punched him.
The actor is said to have landed on a table, with the husband allegedly still punching him. The outlet states that the actor was left bloodied. Even more concerning is that the fight continued even when the police arrived.
In fact, it is alleged that the husband had to be peeled off the actor. The actor was then taken to the hospital to be checked over and to be treated for his injuries.
It's unclear how bad the injuries are at this stage, but if he did do all of the things TMZ says he did, then maybe he'll learn to treat his co-workers better.
Being hungry after a long day is a familiar thing for many people, but that doesn't give people the right to act like that.
Statements were taken at the scene, but there were no arrests.
It's certainly a bizarre story to be reporting this late on a Friday night, but it's not something we get to report about on a daily basis.
Madam Secretary is well into production on its sixth and final season.
Zeljko Ivanek, Erich Bergen, Patina Miller, Wallis Currie-Wood, Evan Roe, Keith Carradine, and Kevin Rahm also star.
