Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7 Review: Tremors

at .  Updated at .

Tears were shed by many as truths came to light.

On the overly emotional Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7, many revelations were made in relationships ranging from lovers to brothers to best friends.

However, for the number of answers characters got, twice as many questions arose.

Kara - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Kara's friendship with Lena came to a screeching holt in the Fortress of Solitude, but for Lena, it had been over for months.

Lena did not hold back when she very readily told Kara all about her hurt feelings and need for revenge. It was very rushed and felt a bit forced. Couldn't Lena have at least tried to lie to Kara before admitting to everything?

Welcome to Krypton old man.

Maybe that was her plan all along when she agreed to join Kara in the Fortress. Well, hopefully it was because Lena is too smart to get caught that easily.

Whatever that plan was, it did not stop the raw emotion that exuded from both Lena and Kara, and coincidentally, the pain that all of us felt as a result.

Lena Luthor 2 - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Lena's hurt was real, even if a bit extreme. Yes, she has been betrayed many times by people she has loved and trusted, but it is not as if Kara kept the truth from Lena to hurt her. If anything, Kara did not tell Lena to protect her.

Lena has every right to be angry, but the severity of fury is unwarrented. Kara is not Lex, nor is she Andrea. Her intentions did not come from a place of malice -- they came from a place of love.

The most unbelievable thing that came from Lena's mouth during her fight with Kara was that Kara was crying "crocodile tears" when she revealed her secret identity to Lena. Lena is so blinded by her own hurt that she fails to see Kara's.

The best thing about Kara is her heart, and keeping the secret of Supergirl from Lena has always plagued her. Kara wants to do good and be perfect all the time. The problem is, at this point, she is more human than she is a superpowered alien.

Strike a Pose - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Even though she is Supergirl, Kara is allowed to fall and make mistakes. Honestly, she would not be a very interesting character if she was perfect.

Kara has acknowledged her mistake, and she has apologized profusely to Lena. She has done everything she can do to make things right with her.

Lena refuses to see reason and continues looking more and more like a villain. She even stole Myriad, a weapon used by the villains of Supergirl Season 1 -- Astra and Non.

I'm not a villain. You shouldn't have treated me like one.

However, Lena refuses to think of herself as a villain, and that is the worst kind of villain.

Alex and Brainy on the Defensive - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

J'onn discovered that his brother was not in the Phantom Zone when he sought out his father for advice for his guilt.

How J'onn was able to contact his dead father, and how M'yrnn knew exactly where Malefic was may never make sense. We will just pretend it's because they are aliens and can do anything, apparently.

J'onn had to make the difficult choice between imprisoning Malefic once again or submitting to him even though he could have killed J'onn. With how much guilt J'onn had been experiencing, his choice was rather obvious.

Of course he would allow Malefic into his mind. However, the real shocker was when Malefic instantly forgave J'onn after the fact.

Lena - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Malefic has been dead-set (pun intended) on killing his brother throughout Supergirl Season 5. He has gone through hell and back in trying to enact his revenge. But he got five seconds into his brother's mind, and all was forgiven?

It just seems way too easy, but it goes to show the power and the importance of the psychic abilities of the Martians.

Thank god for selfie culture.

But, where do J'onn and Malefic go from here? Is Malefic instantly welcomed as an agent at the DEO?

The better question is whether Malefic is still getting controlled by Lena. If so, will she, or when will she, use his rekindled relationship with his brother to her advantage? There are too many questions and not enough answers.

Kelly and Alex - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Alex and Kelly's was the last relationship explored.

We have seen brief flashes of Kelly's fear of losing Alex that stems from the death of a fiance when she was at war. And, Alex's latest brush with death almost pushed Kelly over the edge.

She was ready, and very prematurely, to call it quits with Alex until Alex gave one hell of a speech that showed how far she was willing to go to fight for her.

Alex and Kelly's relationship has always been very sweet and cute, but it has never developed into a truly deep relationship. Well, it hasn't until now.

Alex Danvers - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Alex and Kelly seemed like the perfect couple -- no fights, no drama, no sign of danger whatsoever.

Kelly's fear was the crack in their relationship that they needed because that was how they got tested.

Alex: When you met me, I was just half a person. I was still hurting from my own wounds, and you, you helped me heal. You know, from wounds to scars to just memories, and that's all I want to do for you. Okay? I want to help you heal, I want to be with you and face down your fears and do it together. I want to help you heal.
Kelly: And, what if that's not possible?
Alex: Well I know that it is.
Kelly: How?
Alex: Because you healed me. I meant it when I said that you feel like home.
Kelly: You feel like home too.

And now we know that Alex and Kelly are willing to put in the work to heal their wounds and grow together -- as people and as a couple.

It was a nice ending until they flashed back to Kara trapped in the Fortress as a result of Lena's betrayal. Why can't everyone be as happy and as understanding as Alex and Kelly? Also, why wasn't Alex worried about Kara?

See? Too many questions.

Brainy and Alex - Supergirl Season 5 Episode 7

Relationships aside, we finally learned more about Leviathan -- who they are (Hi, Mrs. Wheeler!), where they come from, why they're here, etc.

It seems as if Supergirl is making Leviathan out to be the actual big bad of the season. Because, why wouldn't they when they came from a sister planet of Krypton? That is the textbook definition of a Supergirl villain.

Lena, Malefic, and Andrea have all just been distractions for Kara and the team, and they will probably continue to be distractions.

Still, though, the odds are that the season finale includes Kara teaming up with Lena, Malefic, and Andrea to defeat Leviathan.

So, what did you think Supergirl Fanatics?

Are you on Team Kara or Team Lena? Which heartfelt talk made you cry the most? Are you wondering when The Monitor or any signs of the Crisis will show up as well?
