PRESTON: "It's a key."

MIRANDA: "Anything I can get for you, Dr. Burke?"

MIRANDA: "My interns. My ass-kissing, surgery-hungry, competitive suck-ups. Where are they? Why aren’t they here fetching you ice chips and morphine? You know something."
PRESTON: "I'm a patient."
MIRANDA: "Preston Xavier Burke, what have you done with my suck-ups?"
CRISTINA: "I used the key."
PRESTON: "That's a step."
CRISTINA: "So you really want to know me?"
PRESTON: "There is nothing you can reveal about yourself that I wouldn't want to know."

CRISTINA: "You need a definition? You really want to be that guy?"
PRESTON: "Lock the door."

CRISTINA: "You’re gonna have to put up with me being…nice and sweet for a little while."
PRESTON: "That’ll be a nice change of pace."
CRISTINA: "Shut up."
PRESTON: "That’s more like it."
MEREDITH: [narrating] "Everybody's a liar."
PRESTON: "Dr. Grey, is that a dog?"
MEREDITH: [holding dog by the leash] "No."
MIRANDA: "Tell me that is not a dog."
ALEX: "It's not a dog."
RICHARD: "Why are you researching neurosurgeons when you and I both know that Derek's better than anybody?"
PRESTON: "I don't want Shepherd."
RICHARD: "You blame this on him? Up until now, I have not yelled. I have not yelled because you are a guy in trouble and I was supporting you. But now I am yelling!"
PRESTON: "Chief-"
RICHARD: "I am yelling very loudly! I wanna retire, Burke! I want my wife back and I passed the torch to you! I passed the torch to you and you blew it out!"
PRESTON: "I know I let you down."
RICHARD: "Burke, I'm tired. I'm tired of you men acting like boys. You let me down and if you don't let Derek fix that hand, you're letting yourself down."
PRESTON: "You know, some do come back from this."
CRISTINA: "You know what? I’m not a civilian. I know the science here. It’s drinking time."
PRESTON: "Not yet. You have a responsibility to Meredith."
CRISTINA: "No. Uh-uh. I don’t do this stuff. You should know. I don’t go to great lengths."
PRESTON: "Well, you were there for me."
CRISTINA: "After. After I knew you were going to make it. Hey, I’m not proud. Okay, I just... I can’t. I can’t go back there. I can’t. I can’t go back there and watch her."
PRESTON: "Listen to me. This is about you and the woman you call your person. And you do know the science here. And if she dies, and you're sitting here when that happens, I can’t see you coming back from that. Come and say goodbye to your friend."
