PRESTON: "So, I have a question to ask. I checked the schedule and I noticed that both you and I are off tonight. I have a favorite restaurant. I made reservations."
CRISTINA: "None of those were questions."
CRISTINA: "There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you."
PRESTON: "What is it?"
CRISTINA: "I need to find this man's leg. The chief is going to kick me out of the program if I don't. I cannot go back to Los Angeles. It's sunny there. Every. Day."
PRESTON: [smiles]
CRISTINA: "What? I need you to help me find the leg! Aren't boyfriends supposed to help in situations like this?"
PRESTON: "When we're on duty, I can't be your boyfriend."
CRISTINA: "Okay, fine. So, when we're on duty, I can have sex with someone else?"
PRESTON: [pauses] "Dr. Yang... I'm walking away now."
CRISTINA: "Are you gonna dish?"
GEORGE: "No. Leave me alone."
CRISTINA: "Then quit whining."
PRESTON: "You're not being nice."
CRISTINA: "He's being pathetic."
GEORGE: " Just leave me alone!"

DEREK: "Dr. Burke. Hey. We’ve known each other for a while."

DEREK: "We’ve done several successful surgeries together."

DEREK: "Your girlfriend is my ex-girlfriend's best friend."

DEREK: "So, why don’t we call each other by our first names?"

ADDISON: "Hey, Preston."
PRESTON: "Good to see you, Addison!"
DEREK: "She gets to call you by your first name and I don't?"
PRESTON: "I like her."
DEREK: "You don't like me?"

CRISTINA: "What’s up with your hair?"
PRESTON: "Leave the man alone. He’s got issues. If he wants to cut his hair to get over his issues, that’s his business. That's his thing."
GEORGE: "It's my thing!"
PRESTON: [enters his apartment] "I am Preston Burke. I am a widely renowned cardio-thoracic surgeon. I am a professional and moreover I am a good, kind person. I am a person that cleans up after himself. I am a great cook. And you? You are an unbelievable slob. A slovenly, angry intern. I am Preston Burke. And you... are the most competitive, guarded, stubborn... the most challenging person I have ever met. And I love you. Why the hell won't you just let me?
CRISTINA: "I gave up my apartment 20 minutes ago."
PRESTON: [pauses] "Well, alright then."
PRESTON: "Hey... if you feel that strongly about O'Malley, I'll ask him to leave tonight."
CRISTINA: "No, don't."
PRESTON: "I thought you wanted him out."
CRISTINA: "I do. Just not tonight."
PRESTON: [Hands her his cap] "Scrub cap."
CRISTINA: "Oh, thank you."
BURKE: [smiles] "You're welcome."
CRISTINA: [Hands Dr. Burke his cap]
PRESTON: "Thank you. How long have you had this? It's one of my favorites."
CRISTINA: "You're welcome. You know you don’t need it."
PRESTON: "What?"
CRISTINA: "I keep that cap in my locker because every morning I look at it and I'm reminded of what I'm here for and what I want to be. A great surgeon. One who is decisive and executes and who doesn’t need a piece of clothing to give him an edge in surgery. You don't need it.
PRESTON: [pauses] "I know. You're right."
CRISTINA: "I know I'm right."
PRESTON: [to Izzie and Alex] "Neither of you are scrubbing in. Please leave."
ALEX: "Fine, I'll watch from the deck."
PRESTON: "No, you won't. Whatever's going on here, I don't need this negative energy anywhere near my O.R."
PRESTON: [to Meredith] "Dr. Grey, I want you to walk out of this room. Walk. Do not run. Go and tell the charge nurse that we have a Code Black."
MEREDITH: "I'm sorry, a Code Black?"
PRESTON: "Code. Black. Tell him that I am sure, and then tell him to call the bomb squad."
PRESTON: "You were gone when I woke up."
CRISTINA: "I had to go do a thing."
PRESTON: "A thing."
CRISTINA: "Yeah. A thing."
PRESTON: "You didn’t leave a note."
CRISTINA: "Sorry."
PRESTON: [sighs] "We go to sleep, I think everything's fine. We wake up, and you're just a little bit crazy."
CRISTINA: "I had a thing!"
PRESTON: "You're a good person."
CRISTINA: "No, I'm not."
PRESTON: "You're helping a friend."
CRISTINA: "Are his problems surgical?"
PRESTON: "No."
CRISTINA: "Then we can't help him."
