Jacob walks into Jasnine's class. She is zoom calling her sister for her birthday and Jacob is excited to meet her.

Janine has a painfully short conversation with her sister and then complains about her sister's long-windedness and proceeds to ramble on and on.

Jacob regales the team with his boyfriend Zach giving him a romantic breakfast in bed. He brags about how amazing his relationship is.

The team talks about Valentine's plans. Mr. Johnson reminds them that the airport has some of the best restaurants in town. Melissa mentions that her boyfriend seems to have forgotten about Valentine's Day.

Janine reveals that she has a secret admirer. She asks if one of them gave it to her. They all deny it.

Janine replies that Mo is coming by after school with a surprise gift but that she hardly knows him.

Ava flirts with a Hot Dad. He complains that a white teacher is teaching black history and he wants a black teacher to teach it.

A student approaches Janine and asks did she get his Valentine. She writes it off as a harmless crush.

 

Ava sits in Jacob's classroom and Jacob is visibly worried. He continues to teach Black History about MLK and Malcolm X.  Ava seems surprised at what they are learning.

Janine is creeped out by her student Donnie's aggressive behavior. He organizes her desk and tells her he can see a future with her.

 

Barbara and Melissa walk down the hall and catch up on Valentine's. Barbara made reservations at an airport restaurant.

Melissa hasn't heard from Gary and she's angry.

Janine asks Melissa about the student with the crush on her. Jacob overhears her and thinks she is talking about Gregory. He says he couldn't tell her but now that she knows he can reveal the rest. He lets it slip that Gregory likes her.

Janine confronts Jacob about what he said about Gregory.  She doesn't believe him because she is so different from his current girlfriend.

Ava fact-checks Jacob in his black history and is surprised that he actually knows a lot and is teaching very well.

Janine sits in the break room and drops hints at Barbara and Melissa about Gregory liking her. They all already know.

 

Janine denies she likes him. Everyone knows but the two of them. 

Zachary tries to set up a romantic lunch for Jacob. She engages with him about how much she is learning. He calls her out for enjoying the classes.

Gregory stops by Janine's class and tells her he has something important to ask her. He asks did Jacob already tell her.  He wants to know her opinion of a lego flower bouquet. 

Jacob wants into the break room and apologizes to Janine for spilling the beans. She says she is off the hook because he likes Amber. She shuts down the conversation.

Ava walks into Jacob and Zach's romantic dinner and surprises him with the announcement that she's going back to school. She enjoyed his class so much that she wants to pursue education.

Donnie takes back his valentine and likes an age-appropriate student.

Ava tells the Hot dad that Jacob will continue to teach Black History.

Amber and Mo meet up in the office. She is impressed with Mo's gift for Janine.

Janine, Mo, Amber and Gregory walk out the school. Amber is disappointed in her gift and envies Janine's while Janine loves Amber's gift and doesn't understand of her own gift.

Barbara bought two plane tickets so she and Gerald can eat at the airport bistro. Gary texts Melissa to check the Doritos in the vending machine and surprises her with an elaborate Vending machine "I love you"
