Recap

The episode picks up with a gravitonium-enhanced Talbot flying himself and Coulson up to the alien ship. Using his new powers, Talbot swiftly takes control of the ship and demands to speak with the leadership of the Confederacy.

Coulson is extremely concerned about his friend's increasing paranoia and mental instability and does his best to keep control of the situation.

Back at the Lighthouse, Daisy returns with Jiaying's corpse and gets into a physical altercation with Yo-Yo, which is broke up by May. Daisy hands the body over to Simmons to figure out a way to use it and the Centipede serum to save Coulson.

Daisy and May use the Zephyr to follow after Coulson and Talbot to the alien ship, which is now in orbit.

Talbot absorbs one of the six leaders of the Confederacy in order to take his position on the council. One of the other members is revealed to be Kasius, the father of the Kree who ruled over the remains of Earth in the future.

Kasius reveals that Earth is already under attack from Thanos, and the Confederacy had no intention of protecting it at all, only exploiting what they could before Thanos showed up and destroyed it.

Unfortunately, Talbot's madness grows too great. He kills Hale, forces Coulson to kneel before him, and captures May and Daisy, handing Daisy over to Kasius Senior.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 Episode 20 Quotes

Mack: When does killing become the only way? We’re SHIELD. We’re supposed to be better than that. None of this would’ve happened if you would’ve just said this “invincible” nonsense wasn’t real. But instead you and Simmons lit a match and now Yo-Yo’s responsible for a girl’s death!
Fitz: I’m sorry, Mack. I really am. But it’s not that simple.
Mack: Simple? Is how you live a good life. Not with your theories or prophesies. It’s following the Good Word and doing the right thing every time. Simple as that.
Fitz: No. Not always, ‘cause there’s lots of instances in history where it was necessary to sacrifice the few in order to save the lives of many.

We are at WAR! A war we will surely lose as long as I am not the most powerful being in the universe.
