Recap

Spencer, the new editor of the newspaper, cancels Alberta's murder mystery podcast. He gives Sam one more episode to solve the mystery and finish the podcast. Sam overhears the ghost tell her that the editor is just flexing their power.

While on the laptop, Pete, Trevor, and Flower get an email from the "prince of Nigeria." It's an email asking for their help.

Jay creates a murder board with all the clues about Alberta's murder.

A flashback is shown of Alberta's last night alive; she was at Woodstone Manor doing a performance and attending a party. Hetty and Thorfinn, as ghosts, were at the Manor enjoying the party. Hetty spoke highly of the 1920s.

Alberta is having a tender moment with Earl. Sasappis and Isaac watch them kiss before Earl decides to leave the room.

Alberta finds a bottle outside her room wishing her luck; there was a card that wished her luck. The bottle was poisonous.

Jay goes over the suspects: her sister Theresa, who wants to be with Earl and who eventually ended up with Earl. Sam thinks it could be Theresa, but Alberta is against the idea of her sister killing her.

Flower is unsure about helping the prince; Pete feels like they should help the prince. Trevor agrees to message back the prince and say they can't help.

Alberta thinks Clara could be the killer since she knew Alberta ratted her out. Clara also wore a big hat the night of Alberta's murder, which could've been used to hide herself. The group theorizes that Clara struck a deal with the police to avoid jail time and to get Alberta and Earl arrested for working with the bootleggers.

Todd wasn't joining the group because he's on a Disney cruise.

While the group discusses the murder weapon, they make the connection the basement ghosts. They think they should chat with them about any clues.

Pete, Flower, and Trevor theorize ideas on how to make money for the prince. Trevor comes up with the idea to steal money from Sam and Jay to send to the prince, which will then give the pair back money. They all agree to the plan.

The basement ghosts say they saw a man with a scar on his face enter the basement. They confirm that it was Al Capone who picked up the rat poison in the basement. Alberta reveals she rejected Al Capone a few times; the group believes it was him who did it.

Trevor, Pete, and Flower learn they fell for a scam while searching on Google. They lost all of Sam and Jay's money.

Alberta is excited over finding out Al Capone killed her. Nigel came into the murder room and says he recognized Al Capone. Nigel reveals he saw Al Capone pouring the rat poison into his own drink to commit suicide. He confirms that Theresa took the bottle away from Al Capone before he could drink it.

Alberta is heartbroken over thinking her sister killed her. However, Hetty reveals Theresa didn't kill Alberta because she knew the truth all along.

Hetty reveals she saw it all happen. Theresa gave Hetty's son the bottle of poison and placed it outside of Alberta's room. It's revealed that her son Thomas and Earl were secret lovers. The "T" on the note was for "Thomas." Hetty reveals that the fight Alberta saw Earl had at the party was him breaking up with Thomas during their fight. Thomas killed Alberta in a fit of heartbreak and rage. Alberta is furious at Hetty.

Sam is upset that Trevor, Flower, and Pete lost the money. However, she saw a fraud alert earlier and stopped the transaction. She begs them never to do this again and stop using the laptop.

The ghosts try to overhear as Hetty apologizes and begs for Alberta's forgiveness. Hetty was heartbroken that her son committed murder and didn't want to hurt her friend. Alberta is hurt that Hetty would kept a huge secret from her.

Trevor, Pete, and Flower ruminate over the scam. They fall for another scam while watching a TV commercial for reverse mortgages.

Ghosts Season 2 Episode 21 Quotes

Jay: This is the murder board!
Isaac: This is what he’s been doing all day?
Sam: So, this took 8 hours, Jay?
Jay: It took a long time to find red string. Target was closed, Michael’s was all out, and honestly, I kinda lost track of time in Yarn Barn. That place is amazing!

Thorfinn: Hetty, your son throw better party than you used to.
Hetty: Of course! Everyone’s in the mood to celebrate. The stock market is roaring and there’s no end in sight.
Thomas: 1929 is sure to be the greatest year yet!
[He cheers glasses with a guest]
