Recap

Miles has embraced the God account as a positive in his life.

He tells Cara and Rakesh that he's eager to impact the lives of his friend suggestions which is surprising on his part.

The friend suggestions also serve as compelling topics for his podcast which he decides to promote around town by posting up posters.

While he's doing that, he gets his next friend suggestion for a man named Hassan.

Hassan turns out to be their cab driver who is having a family crisis since his children are losing their Islamic faith.

Miles believes he can shed some light on Hassan’s sitution as he too had a falling out with his father because of religion.

However, it turns out the situation is much more serious than Hassan's son Mateen losing faith. His daughter, Tarah, has fallen in love with a Jewish man named David. The couple plans to elope since their families will never allow for them to be together.

Miles agrees to be their witness for the ceremony, but at the last minute, Hassan and his wife show up and order Tarah to walk away or lose her family forever.

Tarah gives David back the ring and leaves with her parents.

Miles knows he can't just let religion come in between two people that love each other so he tracks down Hassan to help him understand that be denying Tarah true love, he's only pushing her away.

Still, Hassan is convinced he's protecting his daughter from future conflicts and pain.

Only when Tarah runs away from home does Hassan realize how gravely mistake he was. He reaches out to Miles for help who realizes that the code Cara and Rakesh found while trying to crack the God accounts firewall was actually a train schedule.

They get to the train station just as it's about to depart.

Hassan apologizes to his daughter and both families agree to have a cordial "getting to know each other" dinner.

Cara continued to dodge Eli's text messages and told her mother she wasn't sure if she should give him another chance.

Her mother's response was that if she wasn't sure it's probably because there was someone else.

However, when Cara asked Miles for advice, he told her the only way she would know for sure if he was the one was if she gave him a chance.

Cara listened and accepted a second date which ended with a romantic kiss between her and Eli.

Meanwhile, Miles attended Uncle T's anniversary party, but while Uncle T and Lena looked happier than ever, Arthur witnessed a fight between them that revealed shaky ground.

Arthur also had a few jealous moments during Miles' speech, specifically when he referred to his uncle as his "second father."

Miles registered for a marketing class to learn more about podcast promotion and ended up sitting next to DJ Trex, the woman who has been posting her posters over his flyers.

Meanwhile, Arthur mustered up the courage to accept a date from the record store lady.

God Friended Me Season 1 Episode 6 Quotes

Cab Driver: I believe you are lost.
Miles: Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean that I'm lost.

Most of the time our fears are more universal than we'd like to admit which is why we feel compelled to wrap them up in things like religion.
