Recap

A woman is in the confessional. She says she has committed adultery twice and is afraid she will do it again. She knows it's wrong but she can't seem to help herself.

Meanwhile Aidan Quinn's character is at an AA meeting. After he talks to his sponsor and says he has a long list of people he's harmed. He doesn't know how to make amends.

Meanwhile the woman who needs to go to confessions goes again. She said she planned to commit adultery. She says she was raped last night.

The woman's sister runs into Carisi, who is here to say hello to Father Duffy. Audrey comes out and the women leave.

Carisi is there to ask for a pre-cana though he has not proposed to Rolins yet. Carisi tries to find out from the priest what was going on with Audrey but the priest can't tell him.

Burton meets with Benson to try to make amends. He says he was drinking a lot and doesn't remember what he said. Benson does and is still angry. He asks her if she wants to throw a glass. He says he's sorry and wants to make amends. Benson says for what? For using and abusing women and using alcohol as an excuse?

Carisi talks to Audrey's sister, who says she doesn't like Audrey's husband and thinks he's abusing her. Carisi suggests Audrey goes to see Benson.

Fin wants to know what that creep Burton wants. Benson thinks that she should hear Burton out since he's trying to turn his life around. Carisi mentions a friend's sister may be in trouble with DV.

Benson and Carisi talk to Audrey who didn't want the police involved. She tells them she was raped. She admits she was having a fling with her neighbor. She feels about it. Benson and Carisi reassure her they're not judging her. She left the door unlocked for her neighbor and a guy with ski mask and gloves came in instead and tried to choke her with a belt and raped her, then left. She doesn't think it was her neighbor. It felt different. Vince came in right after and found her. She doesn't know him that well. (Could the priest be involved?)

Velasco says Vince declared bankruptcy and has a record for bank card fraud. The cops question Vince. He denies telling anyone about the affair. Maybe her husband was involved.

Burton shows up at work and Liv says she can't talk to him. He invites Benson to come to his AA meeting tomorrow. He leaves and Benson tells Fin not to ask. Where are they on the case? She says obviously the guy knew about the open door. The husband was at work but could have hired someone. Benson says to check the DNA against the system.

The cops search Audrey's apartment. Her husband comes home and is all antagonistic. He accuses her of lying about being raped. Audrey reveals she went to confession.

Carisi tells the cops that he knows the priest and Father Duffy would never do this. Carisi has to go talk to him and Fin is antagonistic during the discussion.

The cops also question Father Regis. Both priests claim to have been alone in their rooms during the rape.

Benson thinks this is a long shot, but maybe they should send in an undercover to confess about being alone and vulnerable and cheating on their husband to see if either priest takes the bait.

The cops stake out the art gallery the UC led the perp too. Someone in a hoodie breaks in.  It's Father Duffy. He is arrested.

Burton speaks at his AA meeting. As Liv comes in he starts talking about how he hurt so many women and it mortified him. He starts talking about his first girlfriend (Liv).

Later they go to a diner and Liv says Burton did a lot of work on himself. He says he really was in love with her. She admits she was in love with him too. But it doesn't make it right. She has to go as an arrest has been made in her case.

Velasco wants to hear Duffy's side. Fin says this is the same MO as Audrey.

Duffy insists he wasn't there to assault anyone. He says he can't tell his lawyer why he was there either. He wants Carisi to believe him. Carisi says he doesn't know how. Benson comes in and says Duffy's lawyer is here and Carisi shouldn't be.

Duffy claims that he was trying to make sure the UC was safe and he can't say how he knew she was there. He'll choose prison rather than break the confessional.

Carisi insists to Benson that Duffy is not a rapist. He says maybe he knows who the rapist is but the rapist confessed to him.

Benson wonders if Father Regis is the rapist and confessed to Father Duffy. She asks the detectives to look into whether Father Regis raped anyone in the past. They find a parish member who was raped under similar consequences. She confessed to Father Regis. She doesn't believe Father Regis would have done this. But Regis was transferred to Carisi's parish six weeks later and he also sent the same flowers he sent to Audrey.

Carisi says he can't prosecute either one and needs to figure something out. He runs off. A Beverly Morrison shows up and says the man who assaulted her came to make amends the night before and she recorded the conversation.

Carisi goes to the church where Father Duffy is praying. Duffy says he can't talk to Carisi. Carisi says he's here for a personal reason: he's losing his faith. He says they both know Father Regis is guilty. He tries to get Duffy to abandon his vows.

Benson goes to see Burton about what Beverly Morrison said. She asks him what happened. He admits he kept drinking and called Beverly. They drank together. They had sex but he honestly doesn't remember it. Benson says she does. Her side was that she was not able to give consent. Burton doesn't know. They were both drunk. He doesn't know what he did. Benson tells him that Beverly wants him to go to prison.

Benson plays the tape for Carisi. Burton is willing to plead guilty to make this right. Carisi says that Duffy told him the same thing. Father Duffy goes to a dead person's grave.

At the graveyard, Valesco says that Regis' father killed his mother in front of him when he caught her cheating. The cops watch as Regis tells his mother's grave the whole story of how he confessed to Father Duffy and that he has been absolved while his parents are burning in hell. The cops arrest Regis.

Duffy says Regis has finally been defrocked. He is praying for Regis to find peace now that he's been arrested and has confessed to 7 rapes. Carisi admits he is struggling with his faith.

Benson talks to Burton. He has accepted a plea deal. Go on the registry and six years' probation. He didn't go to trial because he wanted to take responsibility for his actions.  Benson tells him she wants to forgive him. He says she doesn't have to. Benson tells him he has a long road ahead and he can only take one step at a time..
