Benson invites Vilasco to take an empty desk. He says it's an honor to be here. Fin doesn't want Vilasco taking a certain desk. Benson takes a stop to that. Rollins explains that is Kat's old desk.

Fin thinks Vilasco is a spy from McGrath. Benson has a useless meeting with McGrath to get to.

Two guys on the street make disparaging remarks to a woman in front of her child. The woman tells them to stop and they go away. The kid drops his ice cream cone.

Vilasco has brought donuts which Rollins does not like. She says Fin likes jelly.

McGrath insists on going over every one of Benson's cases. Also he's taken Garland's office. And he's glad that Vilasco is settling in.

The woman from before is at some party with a guy and coming onto him. They start to have sex against a graffitied wall.

Carisi and his boss are discussing Howard not wanting to go to jail and making demands. Rollins comes to give Carisi some files. She also warns Carisi that Vilasco may be a spy for McGrath.

The man has walked the woman back and is surprised to hear she has a kid. Later someone makes her son watch her have sex and threatens the kid.

Vilasco is disgusted by this crime and doesn't understand what is going on. The cops fill Fin and Vilasco in. Krystal let the guy in because he said he was Con Ed and then he forced her onto the bed and threatened to kill her son.

Rollins questions Krystal who agrees to a rape kit though she says the guy used a condom. She admits to going to the party but says she didn't dance with anyone in particular. She says she didn't see anyone in particular and tells Rollins about the guys earlier. What if they come back and try to hurt Manny? Rollins says they will do whatever they can to protect Manny. She won't go to Manny's father's for sure. She just wants to go home.

Vilasco looks at final notices and a letter from a lawyer. Fin tells him to profile the rapist not the vic. Vilasco is surprised the cops are cutting up a mattress for DNA. Vilasco is also surprised she had sex toys, which Fin says mean nothing.

Benson says there has been wall to wall coverage of the case and McGrath keeps calling her. There is nothing. The ex has an alibi. There is one print -- the guy from the ice cream truck.

Fin and Vilasco question the ice cream guy who knows Krystal and asks what did those idiots do? They are always bothering people. He says he once came to her house to return a sippy cup Manny dropped. They ask him to be in a lineup.

Krystal semi IDs Travis but has seen him elsewhere, not the rapist. Benson asks Vilasco to offer Travis a soda. Also the rape kit is back but she had three semen samples in the kit and her bed.

Krystal is called in. She is upset because her ex is trying to get custody and if he finds out... her ex is probably one of the samples and thinks they are still together. It always puts him in a better mood when they have sex. Rollins asks who the other one is.

Vilasco and Fin question an exercise instructor. He is the guy from the beginning and ID's Krystal. What is she saying?  He says they had sex on the roof and she wouldn't let him come up. He went home to his wife and they went to bed -- are the cops going to tell?

Rollins interviews a young guy who lives downstairs. He says they hooked up during COVID and have booty calls regularly.  He claims on Friday he was at his mother's in Babylon.

Fin and Vilasco interview the ex who asks if they found the guy who hurt Krystal. He'd kill the guy himself if he knew who it was. He insists he wasn't there on Friday -- are they accusing him of something? Is Krystal lying?

McGrath sees Fin and Benson and asks how does he know it's not a domestic dispute? Maybe there was no rape. Maybe she cried rape for sympathy. Benson says she was not making it up. McGrath hopes not. It would be a bad headline for them. They should slow the roll. There's no case here.

Benson tells Rollins she's talking to an NYPD doctor and then can go meet her.

The doctor says Benson's ankle is badly fractured and maybe she should retire. Benson is not interested in retiring. The job isn't the same as it was according to the NYPD doctor. He could put her on t he fast track to 3/4 pay if she retires. It's up to her.

Krystal is upset that Eduardo wants Manny to stay with him and Manny doesn't want to go. Benson offers free counseling. Krystal doesn't want that. She wants to know how hard are they trying to find the guy? Benson reassures her that they believe her but cases take time. Rollins' phone rings. Another woman was raped the same way. The vic is the daughter of a cop and NOW McGrath wants this case investigated ASAP.

The new victim talks to the cops. The guy said he had a B&B Metro card for her. The guy pushed his way in and asked where her daughter was. He forced her into her daughter's room and threw her on the floor. The baby started crying. The woman is upset. Benson says take your time. Peggy got her gun but he followed her and took the gun away and pistol whipped her. He said if she tried that again he'd shoot the baby. The guy was white and average looking. He said if the baby cries she dies. She doesn't want her father to know she was crying.

McGrath thinks they have more to go on and only seems interested in the new case even though it's exactly the same MO as the first case.

The police union has offered a reward for tips. Benson wants to look for a pattern even though McGrath said to slow roll Krystal's case. The only commonality seems to be they are both single mothers.

Peggy is cleaning up and says she doesn't care if they catch the guy or not even though her father does.  She also insists she has nothing in common with Krystal. But they go to the same park and get ice cream from Travis. The cops try to talk to Travis but he knocks Rollins over and runs away and he has a gun. The cops give chase and Rolllins and Fin end up in a standoff. Vilasco starts roughing up the guy. Fin makes him stop and they arrest Travis.

Vilasco is sure Peggy will ID Travis. He admits he overreacted. Did Fin say anything? Rollins says she let Fin know it won't happen again.

Peggy IDs Travis. Her father compliments her. Defense attorney claims the father being here is prejudicial and is rude to Fin. The guy compliments Vilasco.

Travis insists the cops are making up evidence. McGrath doesn't want them pressing charges in Krystal's case. He goes and Benson slams the door. Carisi says McGrath is not the DA and it is not up to him. Benson is sure Travis left DNA in Krystal's bedroom.

Krystal feels like she should have known. Rollins explains they will do touch DNA now. Krystal accuses them of not having cared until a cop's daughter was raped. Vilasco realizes that Manny had his blanket with him that night.

Rollins and Vilasco tell Carisi about the touch DNA.

Travis comes to court all beaten up. A guy shows up that McGrath apparently sent to talk to Carisi. Carisi drops the charges in Krystal's case.

Krystal wants to know what happened. Carisi says TPTB decided her case had too much reasonable doubt. Krystal is upset and says she is on her own. Benson says she's right. McGrath comes and congratulates them. Benson is angry.

Rollins is upset about Travis being beaten up in police custody. Vilasco tells Fin what happened at the arrest won't happen again.

McGrath tells someone on the phone that he owes them. Benson shows up unannounced. She wants to know why he wasn't charged in Krystal's rape. McGrath says Krystal shouldn't testify given her custody case. He doesn't see why Benson is upset. Benson says the Krystal Nunezs matter in her squad. When she gives her word she keeps it and she won't be part of this double standard. They are not supposed to be traumatizing victims all over again. She is not turning her back on any victim. If he gets in t he way he can take her shield and gun. If that's not understood, take it now. McGrath thinks they understand each other.
