George isn’t able to afford to register for her classes, so Bess wants to throw a fundraiser. It’s a Singles Speed Dating night at The Claw, and she thinks Nancy should come so it can get her mind off of Ace.

While searching for parts of the eight reanimated bodies, they find a tooth with an occult symbol on it.

Chief Lovett has closed the case of the eight bodies. She’s written it off as vandals who dug them up. The coroner, Connor, says they found teeth with the bodies, but most of them had fallen out, so they can’t match the tooth to any one body. But Connor says the symbols grew into the teeth; they weren’t carved.

Connor lets Nancy have the teeth, but she has to return them by 9 pm, or Ace will lose his job.

Nancy has George contact her biological father, Edwin Chen, to ask him to analyze the teeth. It turns out every mouth contains three teeth with the same three symbols.

Dr. Chen says that some universities have a room dedicated to artifacts too disturbing for public display. While at Clifton University, he saw a trio of skulls with teeth and symbols like these. He can get them in.

In the secret research room, Nancy finds three skulls from Wales in the 1500s that have the same symbols on their teeth. Apparently, something called Cadfan’s Roundel will reveal “that which killed us.”

Ryan is working as a relic hunter. Nancy isn’t pleased at first, but Ryan explains that this is the first time in his life that he feels like he’s good at something. With Ace’s help, Ryan tracks down RedLink789, the woman who bought the roundel at auction. She and Ryan have instant chemistry, and it turns out the Glasses tried to kill her too. Ryan buys the roundel from her.

Ryan also gives Nancy cash to pay the property taxes on Icarus Hall.

Edwin and George run the bar at the Speed Dating event. They’ve raised enough money for another semester or two. Edwin gives George $30K towards her school tuition. Instead of ripping up the check, George decides to use it to start college funds for her sisters.

Nancy, Bess, and George open the roundel, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. Nancy has to return the teeth to the morgue so that Ace doesn’t lose his job.

At the morgue, Ace is upset that Nancy won’t talk to him. She’s upset because he broke her heart. He explains that love isn’t dying for one another; it’s wanting the other person to live, even if it isn’t with you. Even though it will rip him apart, he wants to see her happy. They both hope that at some point in the far-off future, they will find another great love.

Once Nancy leaves, the roundel shakes, and the top opens. It’s a compass that leads the Drew Crew to the woods near Dunlap Beach. They see another strange body come up out of the ground and run off. Perhaps this is the source of the supernatural cover-ups.
