Betty and Archie's pregnancy test came back negative. Betty is a little relieved because of her past with her parents, but Archie believed they would've been great as parents.

Veronica and Reggie argue as he's packing up his stuff from her apartment. Reggie thinks he would've died if they stayed together; he also thinks that Veronica can't be single as she jumps from one relationship to the next.

Percival Perkins and his officers came to get collateral from Jughead's house since he didn't return a library book. Percival plans to shut down the Riverdale library; he demands all repayments to be high. Percival takes a signed copy of the book Jughead's grandfather wrote.

Percival takes Archie's guitar that Ms. Grundy performed on, Veronica's painting of Hiram Lodge, Cheryl's trunk with Jason's skeleton in it, and Betty's diary. Reggie had the book Percival was looking for; Reggie wasn't charged any fees.

Jughead, Veronica, Betty, Cheryl, and Archie have a secret meeting to discuss their missing books. Cheryl believes that something magic is involved, that Percival is possibly using the tokens to impact their pasts and influences.

Kevin doubts Percival's actions; he doesn't want his friends to be harmed. Percival demands Kevin return his missing book or else he'll be looped in.

Percival conducts a spell among all the books and stolen items.

During the next day, Archie's RROTC group makes fun of him for performing in the talent show in high school. Reggie's dyslexia starts acting up as he can't read, and Betty's stomach turns as she witnesses her dead father sweeping as a janitor. Veronica swats a fly that disappears, and Jughead's fingers bleed.

Betty confronts Percival and finds a bottle of bleach on his desk; he teases her that the bleach will unlock a memory of hers.

Cheryl hears giggling coming from one of the rooms. She pulls back the sheets over a mysterious shape and discovers a pile of roses.

Archie hears music coming from the music room. The dead body of Ms. Grundy performs with a cello; Percival is secretly performing on a cello in his curios shop.

Jughead's fingers itch and bleed heavily. Reggie begs Percival to get his book back, but he refuses. Percivals uses his mind control ability to force Reggie to give Veronica a glaberage egg.

Betty tells Archie about her smell memory involving the bleach. She read her diary and remembered a memory involving Hal cleaning up his car with bleach. Archie doesn't tell Betty about his ghostly encounter.

Jughead visits Sketch Alley to find out what happened to Doc. Someone in the Alley says that Doc went west due to Percival's influence.

Spiders come out of the glaberage egg Veronica opens. The spiders are a trick of her mind.

Moose returns Kevin's missing book. Kevin reflects on his childhood being an obese child.

Cheryl brings the friends together to confirm her theory that Percival is performing spells on them. Jughead shows them the severity of his damaged hands. Cheryl warns them that if they can't find their missing books, they'll need to face the demons and hope they survive them.

Archie breaks into Percival's store to search for his guitar, but it's not that. Percival left him the cello as a token.

Archie confronts his RROTC students about looking at his high school yearbooks. He breaks Ms. Grundy's cello.

Kevin returns the library book to Percival. Percival pushes Kevin to join his side and talks about his memory.

Kevin and Percival make out.

Betty walks in wearing sunglasses similar to Ms. Grundy. Archie tells Betty the truth about all the sightings of Ms. Grundy and the ghostly encounters. Betty comforts Archie because he was groomed by Ms. Grundy.

Archie reveals Jughead is in search of the books from a store.

Veronica has drinks with Heraldo. She seduces Heraldo as she just wants to hook up; they make out.

After they have sex, Veronica wakes up to find Heraldo dead from a black widow bite. Veronica blames Reggie for bringing the glaberage egg into her home.

Betty relives a memory of when Hal gave her a nightlight against her fear of monsters. The memory opens up a new idea of TBK's profile that theorizes he's a father with a daughter.

Reggie confronts Percival about his part in Heraldo's death and Veronica's torment. Percival agrees to teach Reggie some tricks involving magic.

Jughead finds replicas of all the books that were missing.

Cheryl, Betty, Jughead, and Archie give their books to get their items back. Veronica refuses to make the trade as she doesn't want anyone to have power over her.

Jughead takes back his grandfather's book and refuses to burn it. Cheryl uses her powers to burn Betty's diary and Archie's guitar. Cheryl's trunk has been burned.

Dr. Curdle Jr confirms that black widow venom killed Heraldo. The venom didn't come from a bite; it came from his lips. Veronica's power is black widow poison where her kiss can kill someone.
