Archie wakes up and starts singing "Senior Year." He does a duet with Betty and walks her to school. Veronica dresses and sings to a photo of Archie; she wants to get him back.

Jughead sings with Ben, Ethel, and Dilton. Julian, Reggie, and Fangs sings while playing a game of basketball. All of the seniors sing and dance outside of the school.

The scene is revealed to be a fictional number where everyone is practicing a musical number. Kevin and Clay are workshopping a new musical; they need to write the songs and audition to Principal Featherhead.

Jughead and Reggie quit the musical. Everyone is unsure about the musical because they're juniors and not actually seniors.

Kevin has Julian and Archie stay back to practice an "I Want" song for the musical. They perform "All American Mind." During the scenes, Archie and Julian are competing against each other and undressing.

Archie stops the rehearsal because he doesn't like the song. Julian, Kevin, and Clay challenge Archie to define what he truly wants. They ask him what he truly wants: to be a poet, a basketball player, be with Betty, be with Veronica, or something else. Archie can't decide what he actually wants.

Kevin and Clay perform a duet together. They perform "No Ordinary Feeling" in the front steps of the school with spotlights and lights.

Betty, Veronica, Toni, and Cheryl sing in the Chock'lit Shoppe about who they want to invite to the prom. Both Betty and Veronica want Archie to ask them to prom. They sing "Friday Valentine." Toni and Cheryl join in singing about Archie pursuing them too.

The scene transitions back to the rehearsal room and the girls are upset over the song. They don't like that the song portrays them fighting over Archie and hating each other. Veronica wants to get one of her Tony Award-winning composers to write a new song. Cheryl and Toni don't like that they were added to the track; they want a new track that suits them.

Kevin and Clay wrote a new "I Want" song for Archie that focuses on his love life. He performs "I Want Two" about him wanting Betty and Veronica. The scene changes to him debating about his future career: basketball or writing.

Archie stops the rehearsal because he's feeling overwhelmed about his future and what he wants.

Veronica got Cole Porter to write them a new song. Veronica comes clean about kissing Archie. Both girls admit that they care about each other more; they plan to prioritize each other instead of fighting over Archie.

Kevin is having dinner with his dad. Sheriff Keller moved out of his home and he's not talking with Kevin's mom.

Kevin and Clay wrote a new song for him, Clay, Toni, and Cheryl. They perform "Do You Know What It's Like?" The scenes focus on the couples hooking up and getting intimate in bed. The girls love the song, but Kevin and Clay say they can't perform the song due to all the issues with Principal Featherhead and the parents. Cheryl and Toni quit the musical.

At the diner, Archie turns to Jughead for help; he thinks the play isn't capturing who he really is. Jughead tells Archie that the issue isn't about the choices he has to make, it's the fear of having to make a lasting choice. Archie sings a refrain to "I Want Two."

Archie tells Uncle Frank that he wants to quit the basketball team and focus on his poetry. Frank is upset over Archie's decision.

Clay rushes out of Kevin's room in the morning when his mother tries to see him. His mother says that Kevin, she, and Kevin's dad should have dinner at the diner.

Betty and Veronica perform a new song written by Cole Porter. The song is "The Universe Inside." The fictional scenes focus on Betty and Veronica competing to be senior class president. The girls go on a joint ticket to be joint senior class presidents. The girls kiss in the fictional scenes.

Everyone loves the song. Betty and Veronica discuss the emotions uncovered during the song; they think they could explore something. Archie finds them and tells them that he can't date either of them since he's too preoccupied with life.

Kevin's parents tell him that they're getting divorced. Kevin is upset and leaves the diner.

Everyone performs "Greatest Night Of Our Lives." Clay performs as the understudy for Jughead and Julian is the understudy for Archie.

Principal Featherhead tells Kevin that they won't be performing his musical. He doesn't want to run it so soon after their recent controversy, and he wants to ensure that the musical sells out every performance by running a popular and familiar musical. Kevin has an outburst in the music room and storms off; Clay tells the group about Kevin's parents getting divorced.

Kevin's mom reassures him that the divorce wasn't about him not dating Betty. She says she loves him.

Archie apologizes to Kevin and thanks him for how the musical changed his life.

Everyone starts singing "This Is Our Song." Kevin starts crying when he remembers his dad moving out of his house. Everyone hugs him.
