Zarah's voiceover, addressed to her unborn daughter, interwoven with scenes of her giving birth and Layton being caught in an explosion.

Twelve hours previous, Layton and Zarah are talking with the train's children about the naming tree. It's a Third Class tradition. Layton mentions that the Tail tradition was to name babies after the nearest city which is why Winnie was named Winnipeg.

Alex sits with an unconscious, slightly drooling Wilford in the medical clinic. Miss Audrey tries to get in to see him but is barred.

Wilford is experiencing flashes of memory while in suspension.

Dr. Headwood tests Josie's nerve receptors. It seems that the area lacking sensation is spreading.

Till comes over to talk to Layton and Zarah by the naming tree. Zarah's water breaks and Till helps clear the way to get her to the Headwood lab.

Headwood gets the call and tells Josie that she'll need to go now that Zarah's in labor.

Layton's panicking.

Ruth suits up. Tristan lets her know that Zarah's in labor and she chimes the traditional bells for the train to hear.

Wilford starts to mumble some words when the bells chime. Dr. Pelton recommends Alex read to him. As she reads, he relives his interactions with Alex in his dreams.

Zarah's having contractions. Andre's trying to be helpful. Zarah tells him the name she wants is Liana.

Ruth oversees the lighting of the naming tree. The lights are switched on and then the tree suddenly bursts into flame.

Alarms start going off. Layton checks in with Till who tells him he should stay with Zarah while Till investigates the fire.

Dr. Pelton arrives, much to Dr. Headwood's ire. Zarah sends Layton to help investigate. Pelton lets Layton know that Wilford's waking up.

Ben brings Sykes to Javi so they can work together on arranging things for New Eden. Ben also hopes Sykes can help Javi with his trauma. Javi is irritated by Ben's support.

Pike comes to see Ruth. He pitches her on overthrowing Layton but she's committed to the New Eden dream. As he leaves, he says, "See you around," which is the phrase people say when they break up on the train.

Josie's in the engine bunk when Ben comes in to change his clothes. They discuss the baby. Ben offers to teach her how to drive the train.

Pelton and Headwood debate ethics over Zarah's hospital bed.

Layton joins Till in the Market by the burned tree. She shows him how it happened. Definitely arson, using ethanol as an accelerant. They check things out at the Night Car. They question LJ about the fire.

Oz offers to take them to the speakeasy in the Market where they get their ethanol.

In the engine, Ben gives Josie a lesson on driving the train. She shows him how the numbness is spreading by sticking a compass point into her leg.

As the birth gets closer, Zarah feels much colder. Dr. Headwood shares that her late husband believed there would be a drop in host temperature.

Sykes and Javi are during inventory and he is distracted by a hallucination of Jupiter. Sykes notices.

She takes a look at his scars and shares what she remembers about Jupiter attacking her.

Oz drops Layton and Till off at the speakeasy where Z-Wreck's in charge of the booze. They discover several of his ethanol jugs are full of water.

There is a lot more missing ethanol than would've been needed to burn the tree. Till and Layton predict more fires.

Till goes have a talk with Audrey. Layton goes to see Wilford.

Ben and Josie share their troubles.

Layton doesn't get any information from Wilford but Ruth finds him there and lets him know there's heavy smoke in Ag-Sec, in the seed bank car.

Layton gets to the car that's on fire just as Javi realizes there's a bunch of ammonium nitrate missing from the stores.

Layton enters the burning car. Pike is lurking in the shadows.

Till arrives just as the explosion goes off.

Layton heads for Zarah.

The doctors advise Zarah to start pushing as her temperature is dropping rapidly.

Layton arrives and shares his body heat to warm Zarah. He encourages her to keep trying.

Liana is born and Zarah's temperature returns to normal. Ruth announces the birth to the train.

Ben sounds the whistle and the train shoots off fireworks.

In the Market, Audrey picks up a guitar and starts to sing.

Alex wheels Wilford through the train to the library car where he can watch a television.

Josie and Ben make love in the engine.

Pike finds himself in the Market, listening to Audrey. He makes his way back to an isolated space where he's alone and smashes the detonator remote.
