Jack is having a dream about firefighting and hearing music. He stumbles across himself lying on the floor injured.

He needs a brain surgery, and Amelia is the one operating on him.

Natasha is upset because on the news they're talking about Dixon's death, the floor collapse and still bringing up the scandal of her dating her subordinate.

Amelia shares that there is no significant brain swelling and that Jack took a bad hit and his body needs time to recover.

Andy imagines Jack being there making fun of her for caring so much.

Carina brings up that she wants for them to get a new home together and have a big house for their children.

Andy tries to talk to Theo about him not getting captain. She wants him to have her back lke he did at 23.

Vic and Theo get a crisis call. An employee has an explosive at a business and she's disgruntled and threatening to blow things up. Vic tries to talk her down.

Travis stops by with food his mother made to deliver to Mrs. Dixon who is planning Dixon's funeral and Emmett comes face to face with Travis.

Natasha is still doing her work while at the hospital because she knows she has to do her job or face issues.

Kitty blames Travis for Dixon's death and Travis talks to Emmett about what Dixon said, but he's not ready to hear all of it.

Vic bonds with Phyllis over sexism and gets her to put things down and let the people out. She does when she hears sirens from the police, two of the guys say they called them and call Phylis names so she goes inside to their prototype to blow that up.

Vic and the guys try to stop her but things explode and Theo is worried.

Martha comes to the hospital because she's been calling Jack and hasn't heard from and chews Andy out for not calling her first. Andy called Jack's biological sister.

Everyone is fine and Vic gets Phyllis out.

Andy tries to ask Sullivan about what the mayor said to the chief, but he wasn't allowed to stay in the room to here what was said to Ross.

Vic, Phyllis, and the two guys are stuck in a room and the fire suppression isn't working yet.

The chef from the restaurant shows up at the hospital and talks to Carina and says that he wants to adopt the baby. Carina has mixed feeligngs hearing all of this.

Martha and Warren talk about Jack and reminsce.  Warrent talks about how important Gibson is to his kids.

They manage to find a way  out of the burning building through a window and everyone has to jump down onto the inflated cushions.

Phyllis refuses to jump even with Vic trying to encourage her. So Andy must make a call and have them rapel off the roof instead. She doens't know if it's the right call or not and she keeps envisioning Jack giving her advice.

Maya gets Phyliss and repels down and  Vic has to jump when the batteries go and it explodes.

Amelia tells Andy that Jack's neurology issues that could lead to CTE and he may have impairment. And she doesn't see how he will ever be cleared to go into the field again.

Emmett breaks down when Travis talks to him. He apologizes for his father not being there to tell him everyting he needed to ehar.

Emmett tries to kiss Travis, and Travis lets him. They make out and end up having sex.

Andy is still reeling from the news that Jack won't be a firefighter again, and she still keeps imaginging him. He's blaming her and saying she should have seen it coming and been better, and Andy goes off professing that she will be the best captain anyone has ever seen, and she can't let what happened to Jack stop her.

A press conference awaits Ross and the mayor states that it's the rule that needs to change, not Ross getting booted.

Theo admits he fooled around with Kate and Jack saw him and he didn't want Vic to hear it from him.

Sullivan talks about marrying Ross, and she says to ask her on a Tuesday and not bring up marriage when they've gone through hell, which is what he usually does.

The chef backs out of wanding to adopt baby Liam.Maya says they should adopt Liam and be his moms and it doesn't have to mean they can't still get pregnant.

Andy tells Ben that Jack has longtime damage and scarringn and that he won't be able to be in the field anymore.

Martha tells them that Jack woke up. He's happy to see them and asks about his next shift.
