Mina is headed home when she's mugged by someone. She fights her assailant off, but she takes him to the hospital when he's hurt. She does her own stitches at the hospital. 

The kid who tried to mug her is an addict. She helps him out, but when they contact his parents no one wants anything to do with him. 

Nic offers to take the kid home, so Mina joins her for her own safety. They talk to the kids parent's and eventually he's able to convince his parents that he'll be clean this time.

Nic drives Mina to her apartment because there is an emergency. Mina is taking care of one of her neighbor's sick kid. She gives them medicine she took from the hospitals freebies. Nic reminds her that she could lose her license and her visa. 

Nic tells Devon to keep an eye out for Lily. She tells him her suspicions about Lane. He doesn't believe her initially, but he talks to Lily who is having some doubts. He has to demand that a nurse run a new test. When the test comes back, he realizes that Lily has renal failure. 

He tells Lane and she plays it off like she didn't know. Devon tells Nic about it, and they agree to work together to blow in Lane.

Conrad has breakfast with his father and it doesn't go well. He gets a patient who is a ballerina. The man is in chronic pain and malnouristed, but he doesn't want to give up dancing. 

Conrad promises to find out what's wrong with him. Unfortunately, some of the other doctors, including Wilcot, get in on the action and start running loads of test. Conrad and Wilcot get into it. 

Conrad hides the patient, Nigel, and sits down to talk with him so he could figure out what's wrong with him. After he does, the man is pain-free for the first time in years.

Conrad's father tells him that he wants Conrad to run a hospital when he's done with his residency. He could train the doctors who he wants them to be trained and wouldn't have to deal with the red tape and restrictions that come with Chastain. 

Marshall tells Claire that he won't be investing in the hospital. He also tells her and Bell that he is Conrad's father.

Claire tells Bell to schmooze a new doctor, but when Bell finds out that the guy focuses on surgical error, he manipulates  Claire into not wanting the new guy. 

Conrad sees Jude returning NIc's necklace and assumes the worst. When Nic offeres to talk about his father, he decliens. He tells her that it's his fault for holding on to her the way that he was when she made it clear she wasn't into him anymore.
