A mother brings her sons into the ER because one of them injured his arm. He has seizures, but it's unrelated. 

Conrad notices that the youngest boy, Jasper, is sick as well, but the mother assumes that it's a cold at first. Conrad runs tests on Jasper, and it turns out his cancer has returned and there is nothing that can be done. 

Jasper is dying. 

Conrad breaks the news to the mother and tries to keep her together during Jasper's final days. He, Nic, Mina, and Devon along with help from Jessica and Irving decide to throw together a skit so that Jasper can live out his days as a cop, which is what he hoped to be when he grew up. 

Jasper enjoys his day dressed as a cop and solving a case of the germ. He takes a turn for the worst and starts coding. Nothing can be done. 

Conrad urges the mother and his brother to be with him in his last few moments. The case gets to him, and he has to take a moment alone. 

Nic needs a moment too, and Mina checks up on her. 

AJ and Kit both notice something is off with the supplies in their ORs. They take it up with Bell who is using the equipment manufactured by Julian's boss. They both want to fight it. 

Bradley comes into the hospital needing a replacement valve. AJ tries to talk him into requesting the old equipment while Kit talks her patient into the same. 

Bradley tells Mina that he's going to use Benedict instead for his surgery. Benedict is AJ's mentor. He goes to visit him and asks him about the new equipment, and he takes his word when Benedict supports it. 

Kit has to use the equipment anyway for her patient after telling her she wouldn't. 

Later Benedict meets up with Julian's boss. They are working together. 

Bradley notices that something is going on with Devon and Julian, but Mina tells him to mind his business.
