Ihab plot to kidnap Molly and kill her in retribution for Samira's death, but ends up with Emma instead when the attack doesn't goes as planned. Rami dies defending his aunt and cousin. Ihab offers to trade Emma for Molly but Barry refuses. Molly is upset that Barry won't let her sacrifice herself, and sneaks out of the palace to Ma'an, where she contacts the sheik in attempt to get to the Caliphate.

Fauzi returns to Abuddin, but his reunion with Barry doesn't go well once Barry reveals that he is the one that shot Samira. Fauzi is shocked when Halima suggests that he should run for president, but starts to consider it.

Cogswell arrives with a military aid proposal that Barry is reluctant to accept. Leila reveals that she had Cogswell reposted after his last stint in Abuddin because of her attraction to him. Leila starts to think that she should look to power for herself alone and stop worrying about Ahmed, Aziz supports her in this.

Emma, Ahmed, and Sammy bury Nusrat in an unmarked grave on the palace grounds.

Sammy starts taking a class with Halima. He and the professor share an intimate moment at the end of a tutoring session.
