The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4 Trailer

at .  Updated at .

Damon really thought he had things figured out at the end of The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 3.

He had apprehended Oscar, he had made the call to Lily and he had also made the offer to exchange one Heretic for one quasi corpse in a coffin.

But then Valerie swooped in and killed Oscar (because she feared a return of arch nemesis Julian), forcing Damon to resort to a secondary plan on The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4 next Thursday.

What will he do in order to get Elena back? Try to use the Phoenix Stone and bring Oscar back to life, right? No problem there!

Okay, we take it back: there will likely be many problems there. A great many. Like, SO SO many problems.

Especially when a bus full of tourists rolls through town. Uh-oh. Talk about unfortunate timing.

Elsewhere, look for Stefan, Caroline, Mary Louise and Nora to attend Whitmore College’s Heaven & Hell ball; while Enzo will return and set off on a quest to discover what Valerie is hiding.

What else can we expect on what the following trailer dubs a "Night of Terror?" What kind of powers does the Phoenix Stone really possess? Is there any chance this new plan possibly works?!?

Check out the sneak peek footage ahead of time and see for yourself.

The Vampire Diaries Season 7 Episode 4 Quotes

Dear Elena, yes you heard that correctly. Hell has frozen over. I'm writing it all down. Granted, I'm half a bottle in thanks to my 1950 Chateau Cheval Blanc, a bottle I waited 65 years to open. I used to spend nights sitting in my wine cellar convincing myself I could hear it age, tannins growing, fermenting, but appreciating its beauty didn't make time go by any faster. The bottle just laid there on its shelf, torturing me while I waited for Katherine and time stood still. Eventually I convinced myself that no sip of that wine could ever taste as good as I dreamt it would. And that is the story of why I drink bourbon. I don't know who I am without you, but I know that as long as I'm with you, time will stand still. So who is Damon Salvatore without Elena Gilbert? A selfish friend, a jealous brother, a horrible son? Or maybe with a little luck, I'll do right by you. Because you may be a thousand miles away or a hundred years away, but you're still here with me and my heart is right there in that coffin with you. Until you come back to me.

Nora: You reek of blood.
Damon: Well...I've been binging.
Stefan: And I've been judging.
