Royal Pains Review: "Lovesick"

at .

Last night marked the second episode for the second season of Royal Pains - and our favorite brother duo were back to their witty antics and banter in "Lovesick".

Right off the bat, you can tell that Eddie R will be the one single thing to cause a rift between their bond. Evan wants to hold on to whatever time he can get with his father. Meanwhile, Hank doesn't even want to look at him.

Henry Winkler on Royal Pains

Thankfully, the writers explained a bit more of the history behind Hanks aggression he has for his father. We kind of are in the middle and can't decide which side we agree with more.

Hank definitely has arguably good reasons to hate his father. Not only did he abandon them as little children, but he left their mom when she was sick and dying. Why do you think Eddie left? We think that perhaps he left because he couldn't handle seeing the love of his life wither away and die. That still doesn't justify leaving his children for what? Twenty something years? We can't wait to hear his reasons!

Also, Evan has a point too - it has been over twenty years. Whatever happened in the past is in the past. You can only move forward and as much as it sucks to have a crappy father like Eddie, he still is your father. Maybe you should let him explain himself and try to make up some sort of relationship.

The one thing that bugs me about Eddie is the fact that he borrowed all of his kids money! I guess if I had to pick a side, it would be Hanks because Eddie definitely gives off the snake in the grass vibe.

What about the ten second kiss between Hank and Jill?! Does this mean their romance is back on!? One thing is for certain, that scene of them making out on the couch in the garage was definitely HOT!!!

Mary Lynn Rajskub on Royal Pains

The back storyline with Blake and her heart condition didn't really thrill us. What did get under my skin was that her boyfriend broke up with her via text! Seriously, is this what our generation of daters have come to? It was bad enough to break up on the answering machine, then voice-mail and over the phone, but text? It is like he couldn't even bother to speak to her! This really grinds my gears!

Overall, we thought it was a great episode that left us wanting more! What did you guys think? Are you Team Eddie? Do you love or hate his character? Let us know!

Follow the jump to read a few of our favorite Royal Pains quotes from last night's episode:

Mrs. Neuberger: You may not be my flesh and blood, but you're more - you're my heart. | permalink
Jill: If they can't make it - what chance do the rest of us have? | permalink
Divya: I guess anyone who breaks up over text messages isn't the "One". | permalink
Evan: At some point you're going to have to forgive him.
Hank: At some point you're going to have to realize I won't. | permalink
Jill: I'm a big fan of tradition but, what if the sex isn't great or even good? You need to find that out before you even marry Raj. | permalink
Evan: Let the record show that you were wrong.
Hank: The record will reflect that. | permalink
