The Good Wife > The Good Wife Review: "Getting Off" > Comments Page 2
Since the season2 has come to an end and ALicia is looking to another lawyer for divorce advice why can't she do it herself. I'm getting a vision for the future if there is one that she will reconsile with Peter because if she hasn't started divorce proceedings now she still has a gut feeling that all this mess now is because she can't stop feeling she will make a bigger mistake and destroy the one thing she cherishes plus she doesn't want to make the same mistake as her mom and dad.
YES, BUT NOT WITH WILL !!!!!
Good wife is the best show in years on television that isn't premium. Great writing but HATE the fact that kalinda and alicia are at odds. this is the one time that characters arn't making sense. how can alicia hate kalinda for doing something years past when she didn't know her? wasn't a betrayal at all. anyway, wanted the family to reunite for a while anyway, wish they hadn't let that detective get that information on the election night.
Alicia does need to get laid tho, relax girl.
Very interesting twist with these last 2 episodes ~ and the finale finish next Tuesday will be painful to wait for! I am glad Kalinda is not leaving, I like her and Alicia's relationship (even thought they're on the outs now) as it gives us insight to both women who tend to hold their thoughts and feelings way too much inside. Jackie is a character I enjoy seeing Alicia set straight as she did these past 2 episodes. I'm wondering how the Cary and Peter relationship will unfold. Especially in light of Peter and Alicia's seperating - will Peter be spiteful and Cary play a part? I hope this series continues to keep a kind of balance between good and evil intentions and a thread of hope ~ not go all into the darker sides of the cast. It is what makes this show real and keeping me coming back to be surprised by the evolution of everyone.
I have only been watching this program for a short time with my fellow sisters and we have turned it off, if the lord wanted all to be so inmoral and sinful he would have started that way. By reading all these comments it seems that everyone keeps condemming the husband and not showing any forgiveness even the wife, but she is on the same pace with her boss. Does she expect forgiveness from her family for committing adultery before any divorce.
Also the consences is that the children don't have any say in it, she says they are her life so they will be able to see right through any lies that will come from her. God bless
I enjoyed this week's episode because it showed Alicia becoming increasingly aggressive. The anger she's been sitting on for the first season and a half is finally coming through. She's considering herself and her feelings for once. I'm very happy to see that and I hope we get to see the more vulnerable side too.
I liked the interaction between Kalinda and Alicia in the beginning of the episode. I like that it's hard for Kalinda not to be able to talk to her best friend. But I'm not sure what Kalinda's look meant at the end of the episode and I sincerely hope her attitude won't be as smug as her face seemed to be when she walked into the conference room to participate in the next case. Although Kalinda tries to hard her emotions, losing Alicia as a friend hurt her. I hope she doesn't behave otherwise just because she decided to stick around. I hope she works to restore what she broke in a sincere way.
Cary's character needs work....and lots of it. He's still crying over
"Alicia home life will be very gut wrenching after the kids find out the whole truth about her relationship with WILL."
OMG, you mean her kids might actually "find out" about the kind and gentle guy who saved her life when their cheating bum of a dad went to jail, who has always treated their mother with kindness, consideration and LOVE, and who has been waiting patiently for her to come to her senses? The horror!
Seriously, those kids have already seen their rotten father betraying their mother with hookers, in the computer lab at school. And they'll find out soon enough that Peter couldn't keep it in his pants with Kalinda either. Nice family values there. To anybody sensible, Will is definitely a HUGE improvement over that. Peter really needs to be gone, ASAP.
I think the best scenes of the episode were when alicia confronted Jackie. And the short scene between will and Alicia, when Alicia was staring at will and he mouthed and asked if she was okay. that scene made me fall in love with will even more!
I don't want to bust anyones bubble but down the road I see Alicia running head-on into a major jam with the firm. Good old Will is going to be put through the mill over his past and blow the lid of his relationship, here she goes again all those lies. Kalinda will be playing a very hard role that will help Cary get back at both Lockhart&Gariner and Alicia on illegal handling of a client that could be grounds for disbarrment.
Don't count Peter out he is still in the thick of things to come, and Alicia home life will be very gut wrenching after the kids find out the whole truth about her relationship with WILL. don't forget the family meeting regarding the whisppering phone call that Grace overheard and Alicias reasonwe will see the kids in a much demanding and control of the situation.
I'm waiting for more focus on Will's character. The way he behaves when around Alicia and how he nonverbally connects with her is a beautiful thing to behold. Hopefully we'll now have more photos and add spread of Will with Alicia. Here the writers are giving a how to be a supporting good man with the woman he loves and respects. This Josh Charles actor should receive more attention and applause it seems to me.
I await for season 3 of Good Wife to further develop the personal growth and self insight of both Will and Alicia as their relationship is explored and continued. This search for love happiness life goal intertwined within the legal profession life is what will keep me returning. My senior girlfriends and I hope Alicia experiences some well deserved joy and comfort with Will in this season finale.......as best she can now that her character's trust issues of self and of others is hanging at cliffside.
The best hour of Tv for me...love this show.
I've never seen a show that captivated me more than this show. Family structure has evolved and changed over time and the FLorricks are no different. No one should be in a loveless marriage just out of obligation to wedding vows. Seldom does love return after an affair but a very public affair with prostitutes? There is irony I'n calling this show "the good wife" because you don't know the situation until you've walked a mile I'n their shoes. Alicia is evolving and I think in a good way. She strong and independent
For me the show has been very flat, boring and somewhat stupid this season altho I continue to watch hoping for some original greatness. I'm quite fed up with the lack of emotion from Alicia to equal her emotional roller coaster ride her life has taken but every episode we see her rigid and not showing any emotion at all which is quite ridiculous. And uninteresting. Kalinda's even worse and her demeanour is getting tiresome too.
Until last nite and then it was poorly placed. To not show her confronting the husband is just not realistic as that's the first person a wronged wife does confront. And that idiot opposing stupid and theatrical female lawyer they keep introducing in court is more than I can stomach. For her I have to channel surf. She adds NOTHING to the show other than to extremely annoy and further show me the show's hardly worth keeping up with any more. Not to mention the entire law suite they carried on with last nite which was just too stupid to even consider i
I love this show and I hope we get some inbetween the sheets time with Alicia and Will. I so like those two. I feel bad for Kalinda but lmbo at what happened at the new job. I'm glad she is back and Carey needs to be careful but he was funny in his office.
Best-written series on commercial TV.
No one has mentioned Sarah Silverman's performance, which confirms my impression that there wasn't much there to mention. She's not the actress, say, Jeanane Garafalo is, and her usual little-girl cluelessness didn't really work for this character.
And I'm liking Kalinda less and less. Maybe she'll learn a little restraint and empathy after this thing with Alicia blows over. And what's with the clothes?
I know the vast majority of fans probably wish the same thing that happened to the murdered husband in this episode would happen to Peter, but before anyone gets out a rusty pocket knife, let me offer this explanation (not really a defense) of what Peter did...or didn't do. First, he didn't cheat on Alicia again after swaearing he would never do such a thing again. It happened years ago, probably around the time of "hooker gate." And it happened once, when Alicia didn't even know Kalinda, but yes, obviously, it was still cheating. So does the fact that he didn't come clean about Kalinda to Alicia mean he really hasn't changed, and as he claims, wants to become a better man? Of course not. I know few will agree with me because the hatred for Chris Noth's character is so intense, but I think Peter probably thought telling Alicia about Kalinda would only complicate, not only Alicia's life but Kalinda's, given they were now co-workers and had become friends. It had happened once, meant not
The critical setup in this ep was when Will predicted to Kalinda that she'll have to lower her defenses at some point. She'd just agreed to stay on at the firm - but she shut him down; there'll be no defense-lowering for Kalinda EVER!!! - but that's just the verbal equivalent of Checkov's 'shotgun on the mantle'. You can bt that in some time in the future, Kalinda will have to come clean, and when that happens it will be Alicia that will be there and then we'll see what happens to that incredibly complicated and interesting relationship, because there's always much more to Kalinda than she lets on (and hey, isn't she just about the savviest investigator on TV, perhaps - ever?) My only quibble with this episode was too on the nose in terms of HOW MUCH the case mirrored Alica's predicament. As Peter accused last week, Alicia clearly understands that her feelings for Will are more than just 'a crush' from their past, and this week her client reinforced that observation in their examina
If they are lucky to have a 3rd season the title has to be changed to the Mother of the Year, one more lie to the kids and they find out what really is going on with her and we will see the biggest waterfalls come out. So far there has been 4 commandments broken 7,8,9,and 10, that should help the writers with their storyline.
PS---The clock is ticking yes or no.
OH and I hope they stop it with that Jackie Florrick, I never like that story line...
Kelli Giddish look so different from Chase ! I like to see her more on the Wife. And yes Juliana Margulies is incredible...
As usual, this was a great episode for me! Loved the Jackie and Alecia confrontation...again! The one between Alicia and Kalinda was tough and just when I thought it was over, they were together again on screen. It will either get better or become totally brutal.
Alicia and Peter, for me right now, are a back story! It has become all about Alicia and her struggle to move ahead after being so betrayed...again...by her famous and newly elected husband. That said, I still do not want her having Will over for tea or anything else for that matter! ;) The previews were very enticing, hope it is just a dream or fantasy piece.
Yeah, Carey still where he can do both harm and help! I miss Eli and hope he will show up soon.
Alicia has changed a lot. Not only has she become stronger emotionally, but her appearance has changed too. Even though it is necessary, I am not sure I like the way she looks now. What is happening to her hair? It often looks like a helmet. Although she mig
All night I jusr kept saying wow and wow. It was a wonderfully acted and scripted episode. I almost cried for the pain Alicia and Kalinda are in.
I don't agree with you though that Kalinda is as bad as Peter. Yes Alicia did ask her and she lied but Peter wanted to take no accountability for his actions while Kalinda did. It broke my heart when she said she realized she never has to share with anyone ever again.
Reallu loved that Will was willing to fight for Kalinda to stay. And we have always known that Jackie is evil. The actress who plays her is so great that you really have to listen to what she says to see how she plants destruction. I was wondering what she meant by she knew what happens in the house and I think it may be when Zach was having sex with his girlfriend that would really ruin a custody battle.
Can't wait for next week and next season and for more Eli.
The promo for the season 2 finale is on You Tube. And OMG !
Brilliant episode! A few moments had me cheering at the screen.
The look between Alicia & Will at around 19 minutes was beautiful, and so subtly done. I just love the way he is around her and I really like the clever way we're seeing their connection and what they mean to each other. There had better be a S3, I love this show too much for it to just end.
I am wondering what on earth Jackie was referring to though when she said she knew what happened in Alicia's house?
