i want Steve and kono to get together that would be the cutest thing ever

Again, could I point out that our Lori Weston is not a regular on the casting list for this season? Give her time. I actually love her.

The best episode since the premiere, let's hope the show can keep it up from now on.

However, I personally didn't enjoy the scene between Lori and Chin. I found her acting (or should I say 'overacting'?) extremely awkward and painful to watch, it made me cringe. I've given her four episodes now, I've tried my hardest to go into each with an open mind and find the good in the character, but she's now been in one sixth of the series and it's not working - how much more time do I have to give her? If there are many more scenes of this 'quality' then I will be DVRing the show and fast forwarding through her scenes (and through the ads too, take note CBS).

If steve and kono dont go out soon, it will be very disappointing. they have chemistry together, in the last episode when kono said "couldnt ask for better back up" did eveyrone notice that look on steves face? i thought steve was starting to realise his feelings for kono, that look was used to be from steve to catherine, but now konos back in the picture. i dissaprove of the Lori-Steve romance though, im one of the small amount of people who doesnt mind lori weston, but kono and steve have good as chemistry together. Steve/Kono, Chin Ho/Amelia, Danno/Rachel (but lenkov has drifted away from that storyline), and lori i dont know lol. but cant wait for episode 10 for when Jenna Kaye comes back and reveals why she was working for Wo Fat, cant wait ! so far this season hasnt disappointed except i hated the "evil kono" storyline, and the disappearance of jenna kaye.

I really love Alex, and watch HF-0 because of him, but if the writers continue writing Steve as uncaring, even his fans are going to be turned off. Last season, they softened his hard obsessiveness with some kind gestures toward his team and his scenes with children. Also, he actually smiled.
Steve owes Kono a huge apology and soon. If the writers don't follow through, I will be very disappointed.
Peter Lenkov follows social media. I hope he pays attention to the fans' discontent.

  6. Lori

First of all, different Lori. I have the common sense to know I can't act. More than I can say for Lauren German. LOL I honestly feel that Peter L should be fired. He has screwed up this show so bad. I now record it, but I do watch it the next night if it gets to late. Her scene with Chin was painful. I was actually embarrassed for her. I would kind of miss Alex, but then again I would miss any of the original four. I have my doubts about a season 3. Too bad because I loved most of the episodes last year.

I can't stand Lori. I suspect it's because they introduced her at the same time as "Evil Kono" was taking over. Bad timing. But, I could give her another chance.

Alex though, would not mind seeing him leave the show. When Steve talked to Chin, it became apparent that not once did Steve even enquire about how Kono was doing, let alone check up on her. Also, how dumb was everyone? It was painfully obivious to all of us at the end that Kono was working for Fryer; you would think a detective could, well, detect. And turn it around and investigate Fryer and the whole mess, and by the way, have Konos back. When Steve went all high and mighty about no one messing with his team, it rings hollow because Steve does not take care of his team.

As far as Scott and Alex. The show needs both of them. Neither one is King of the show, they make it work together. I agree that Scott is doing other projects etc. He is smart enough to know the show is not going to last forever so he needs to stay out there. Smart guy! I absolutely hate the Lori character. I am not sure if the writer sucks or the actress sucks. Either way, no one is going to listen to the fans so we are unfortunately stuck!!! Maybe if they lose viewers, they will get the hint. Maybe not!

  9. Linda E.

If Scott is in fewer scenes, it's because he wants it that way. There have already been several media events and interviews, including last season also, where he was unavailable because of some other commitment or interest in LA. Also, from thing's he's said, I've always gotten the impression he'd be the first to leave the show, whether out of boredom or because of his other show biz interests.

D--I agree with everything you said. Loved everything in this ep except the Lori scene with Chin. Ugh. Those lines were painful! I want this character gone. The Jenna character added more to the show than this Lori character, and Larisa Oleynik is a better actress too.

To those who feel like it's necessary to whine and take sides over Steve vs. Danno's screen time, really? These characters are partners. One without the other wouldn't be as good. Their chemistry makes the show, so I don't get why people feel compelled to take sides. It's kinda nuts. Btw-Joe White-I missed him this week. Looking forward to next week and thankful that Kono is back!

Melani. I totally disagree that Scott steals the show. I had never seen Alex in anything before HFO and only seen Scott in the Oceans films (and forgotten him in them anyway). Alex grabbed me immediately in his portrayal of Steve McGarrett and it is for him I tune in each and every week. If you think Scott 'steals' the show why hasn't he got as many fans and the like as Alex? Alex brings many many viewers. And I love Scott in this by the way and love his job as Danny, they are great together. I just hate how some bitter Scott fans are taking their frustration at Danny having supposedly less screen time by slating Alex.

If you go and read the Amazon reviews you'll see that nearly all the one star reviews say they can't watch the show because of Danny's character. He is a full on loud mouth character. Some love him some hate him. Steve is a deeper character who is stoic and that is not that easy to play.

So lets have less Alex bashing Caan fans eh? We're all supposed to be fans of

I love the show, but the Lori Weston character needs to go. That scene in the hotel was excruciatingly painful. The acting is wretched - no emotions or facial expressions or vocal inflections. Why did she keep clearing her throat and cocking her head? It was sick and stalkerish, the way she kept asking about Steve. Loved Chin's reaction. Horrible, horrible scene and waste of time in the ep. Lori is not working and is taking up time better used on Danny, Chin or Kono; characters we actually care about. She is not a female McG - please writers stop trying to club us over the head with that. You have not shown in any way shape or form that she is anything like Steve. Being impatient waiting in a hotel room - that is like 90% of the population. Guess most people are like McGarrett by that logic. Thank goodness Kono is back, she is more like a female Steve and has proved it. I hope they reunite the team and get rid of Lori. Send her back to be the Public Safety Liaison, where s

Whoa re a previous comment - Scott way better actor than O'Loughlin? Let's not confuse character with actor. The Danny character is an easier play (ask any actor) than the more brooding, stoic-while-not-stoic, repressed emotion character that is McGarrett. Danny is, perhaps too often, all easy over-reaction with some soft moments re his personal life and/or when he's not over-reacting. Without O'Loughlin, you wouldn't have Hawaii 5-0. Period.
Agree fully, however, re Lori character/Lauren actress. Bad, totally.

  14. @dede

Really? I always thought they were going for the Danno-Kono angle!

  15. Melani

I really don't care about "reality" on a show. I watch movies and tv to escape reality to be honest. My biggest complaint and it really irritates me is Lori Weston playing such a huge role and taking it away from Danny. Scott Caan to be steals the show way over Alex O'Loughlin. If you are going to cut roles, cut his, not Scott's. She's terrible. We all agree. Don't know how she got the part. Maybe she did "audition" in a sleazy way-don't care JUST GET HER OFF THE SHOW.

  16. Rachael

Lori sucks. The scenes are forced and brings the whole level of the show down. Unfortunately if she is in 12 episodes I'm afraid the show will lose viewers, especially with her taking over scenes from Danny. Love the very last slow motion scene but she should not have been in it. I thought that was in poor taste.

  17. Helen

I agree with the others, Lori does not fit into this show at all. She has no chemistry with any of the other actors and it looked ridiculous with her leading Danny and Steve into a crime scene explaining all the details like she was the leader of the group. Danny gets more and more pushed out of the spotlight, and Lori's scene with Chin about Steve was also ridiculous. I like the original cast and if Kono wants out, that's okay too. Steve, Danny and Chin can carry the show with occasional guests. But Lori does nothing for this show, and whoever cast her in the role must have owed her a favor!!

  18. Linda E.

I loved almost all of this episode, but had one major concern with Steve. He's shown no concern or regard for Kono, not even enquiring as to what she was doing these days, yet acts like he was tricked by IA. It seems like the writers don't communicate with each other or pay attention to what happened in previous scripts. It almost seems like HF-0 should have a single writer, although that wouldn't work. As the showrunner, Peter Lenkov should be keeping a tighter rein on his show. He has too many other projects in the works and is not giving this show enough of his time, IMO. He and the other producers seem totally unconcerned about the implausibilities and ongoing errors in the show.
I did enjoy the slo-mo shot of the team at the end, but Lori Weston was included. Seven more episodes with her is not a happy thought.
Next weeks episode looks like fun and HOT !!!

I don't like Lori she doesn't fit at all she needs to go !!! and that Kono was undercover I love and it was awesome she's freaken tough and hardcore , oh and working for Fryer was shocker too and when Steve punched the crap out of him saying " don't miss with my team" love it!! ..and I want Kono and Steve together.

I'm glad they concluded Kono's ordeal with the dark side. Her scene with Delano and the other bad cop was her best acting ..it gave me chills. As for the addition to lori's character we are learning more about her. I doubted her as a regular but  I think it's going to work. the scene with Chin was kinda awkward but there is room for chemistry between the two.. I agree with the writers take on the slow motion exit of the five characters.. The writers way of saying that this the core of the show.. Bringing well known actors (haoles according to Jim) such as Peter Fonda and Patty Duke opens the arena for other well known actors approaching or if not already in their twilight years to join this great show!
Living in Hawaii the show is  good for our economy bringing a whole new generation to our ALOHA community .. To the writers... keep us our toes . Thanks for what seems to be great season.

Why is Lori still around? She doesn't fit in with Five-0 at all, and the show's attempts to establish a romance between her and McGarrett fall flat. I miss when it was just Steve, Danno, Chin, and Kono. I also agree with everyone about how weird it was that McGarrett never once checked in on Kono... she was a huge part of the team, and they all played a part in the theft of the money - Kono was just the only one to get caught. I was really hoping for a relationship on that front, but they haven't really hinted at anything between Steve and Kono, so I'll probably be disappointed with a string of random relationships for both of them.

  22. Rick

I'm a fan of Lori. She's got spunk. I don't know that I buy how involved she has gotten since her main job was to "babysit" McGarrett, but I think she's a good addition to the team.

  23. bonnie maynes

I don't like the character Lori at all. She doesn/t belong. I think Steve should have found out Kono was in trouble long before this. The end of the undercover assignment was to abrupt.

  24. Mia

Jim, don't get me started on reality. No, all the other "real" stuff, I can laugh at and enjoy. I'm just really not enjoying anything dealing with Lori. On a real level or otherwise.

    Hi Mia,

Sadly, I leave the "real world" outside my H5O watching. In the real world, Steve would have been brought up on charges for punching Fryer, the interrogation room would not be as dark as a meat locker, and they would drive more than one car between 5 people.

So, I just sit back and enjoy the show!

    Jim~
