@Logan I don't think Stefan has a problem being real. He's never denied the fact that there was a much darker side to him. Elena was aware of that, just never got to experience it until later. Stefan has a problem balancing both sides of who he is because he wants to be good and moral so bad. Also it's b/c he knows he can't control his blood lust that he spent the 2nd half of Season 2 training himself by drinking a little bit of Elena's blood every day. So technically, Stefan wasn't busy "hiding" his true self from Elena.
And honestly, I don't see how you can bring up the fact that Stefan chose to leave Elena. He didn't choose, he really didn't have much of a choice. It was either stay and let Damon die or leave and save his brother. And if you ask me, I think Damon would do the same if he was in Stefan's shoes because they love each other no matter how much they deny it. So I'm pretty sure Damon would choose Stefan over Elena given the same circumstances.

I have my Damon in my life and he is my best friend. We love each other,we will do anything for each other, we are committed to each other. We are both in our late 20's, and we know that what we have will last. BFF's are how this relationship should progress. Yes he is Stefans brother and that is what will make the relationship from both sides interesting.Leave them as friends without the pining, there are relationships like that out there and they fo work.

I've always loved Vampire Diaries in the book and the show, and Damon and Elena should NEVER be together in EITHER!! I'm pretty sure the only reason people want them together is because they shouldn't be together, because it would be twisted. But no! Delena shouldn't exist!!! Elena is suppose to be different than Katherine. She chose Stefan and she loves him, she truly does. She wants to help Damon, yes, be his friend, sure, but be his lover and the show is ruined. Elena and Stefan work because they both want to help all people. Damon? He cares about only the people he cares about, innocents aside. Damon needs a girl who he can play hero for, but will love and accept him for who he is. Because as he said, he's not Stefan. And Elena only wants him when she thinks she can make him like Stefan. So as I said, Delena is bad, should never exist. Elena should be with Stefan only and Damon needs to find someone else or be alone.

And it`s not like that i don`t like Stefan and Elena.
They are sweet, honest and both cares about anything that
walks. On paper they are perfect together.
But watching them, it`s like eating without getting full.
Something is missing. Something really important.
Stefan has a big problem with the fact that he`s a vampire.
And for Elena and for himself he pretends to be as normal as
a human. But he isn`t and he never will. He is a hunter, and
as we eat animals, he normally would join human blood.
The problem is not that he choose not to drink human blood, the
problem is that he always must handle his addiction to human blood.
That`s so exhausting.
And he always feels quilty, for anything. How tragic is such
a existence, when all you feel is pain and guilt.
I think nobody can love you if you don`t like yourself as less
as Stefan does. And he`s so funny, and he still feels. We all can
see it

Tea I agree that Elena is still finding herself. Stelena isn't meant to be because back then she was made for Stefan but its becoming abundantly clear that she's slowly changing to be made for the lonely brother. I don't think she will end up with Stefan and I don't want her too. They are to much of the same, he needs fire and so does she. They wont find that ib each other. This is similar to Dawson and Joey vs Pacey and Joey. Pacey and Joey were unbelievably passionate and although she loved Dawson she couldn't live without Pacey. She always thought it would be Dawson but Pacey like Damon is who they will end up with. Much more compelling

I love how the occassional prson says Elenas destiny is Stefan. Why because a young, immature and tramatized girl said so over and over? Because the powers that be threw them together so fast you could blink and miss it? There is just to many holes in S and E's non story. Elena had just turned 17 and both of her parents. I'm sorry but I can't be told to love a pairing. I have to believe it and FEEL it and those two are so boring. True love on a tv show can't just be stated to be believed. There must be passion and intensity because kiddie wuv wont last a lifetime. I wanna see a love you can't live without and I don't wanna see the couple consisting of two "nice and neat" boring characters. Stelena isn't made for tv and most people don't want to see that. That's why they never win anything, they are "safe" and placid. Cuteness or blahness depending on your view wont keep me tuned in. I know that Damon and Elena are really close and I like that, I really do. But I don't think that these too could be together. They could be very close friends but not something more. Maybe and a kiss or two; nothing more. I love Damon, he is my favourite but I don't want to see him and Elena together. Elena's destiny is Stefan, end of story. Even though I am 100% team Damon, I am definitely a Stelena fan!

Keep these two best friends. Tired of the sharing GF's storyline. I am 30
and I have a Damon in my life. He is my best friend Christiaan and there is nothing he would not do for me or I for him. If we crossed that line and became lovers it would be something we cannot reverse. We love each other way to much to go there. So writers please leave this "couple" as they are,loving, involved but only as very good friends.It does work you know.It does work.

Ugh I'm such a sucker for these two. They bring out the very best in each other. You can just tell its gonna be that I can't live without you love. They don't need words, its an understanding they have. Its like they're growing together and just don't realize it yet. Even better then my Pacey/Joey, ha its like the vampire version of them. He loves her so much its like he breathes her, he enjoys life now because of her. Elena can't fight it, she wanted to kiss him a few episodes back. Ugh I need delena youtube. Lol

I know I'm not the only one here who loves the entire show, so what's wrong with lovin on em a lil bit? Nothin. Oh and Damon loves unconditionally....Elena needs to liven up. She was a snoozefest around Stefan. That's why we don't marry our mirror image. I think people need to chillax.
There are many variations of love for another. Stefan and Elena have the innocent, relaxed, dreamy and forever after kind of love. Damon and Elena have the fiery, "this shouldn't really happen because it'll hurt others", sultry kind of love.
Clearly right now Delena is on the winning side because of several circumstances, all involving dear old Klaus.
But we really can't disregard the past 2 seasons of pure Stelena. Personality-wise, Elena is more of a Stefan kinda girl who is sweet, traumatized, loves unconditionally, etc. But it's refreshing to see her go out of her shell and get more risque because of Damon.
In all honesty, we should all focus on the real relationships here:
Damon and Alaric
Caroline and Tyler
How EPIC are those two combos??? Screw the Stelena/Delena fight. It's all about bromance and were-vamp babies!!!

Love the article! Selena all the way I love watching Tvd, so much fun! Can't wait for this weeks episode! Ian somerholder is ridiculously Hot and I love the way his Damon has grown and made elena much more interesting and likable. They have so much chemistry and nothing against Stephan but him, and Elena together, boring. Like many people say, he reminds me of Dawson. I think he would be a much better match with Katherine. Hope Selena win the vote

Great article. I love Damon and Elena and its so refreshing to see a couple that is not rushed. We;re seeing Damon and Elena grow closer and closer with time. They have a love, hate, friendship and trust. Such a beautiful pairing. They're not a couple/together as yet thank god because I'm really tired of these overnight couples. But they are definitely one of the most popular pairings and its so obvious why so many fans support them.
there may be some disappointments throughout each couple of the vampire diaries but the love in those couples, especially the ones I like, should never die. There will always be an answer to a problem, power of love is stronger than anger, and good always triumphs over evil. I mostly want to see loving events and I can't wait to see what else will come up for the show. XD =) =P =O
