Lauren Tom has signed on for Supernatural Season 8. We’re just not sure in what capacity.
The actress – who voices Amy Wong on Futurama and, of course, delayed the Ross/Rachel hookup on Friends for a few weeks as Julie back in the day – will appear on at least one episode of The CW cult favorite in a mysterious role The Hollywood Reporter describes as “intense.”
Look for Tom to portray the overbearing mother of a key character and have the potential to recur.
Not much else is known about the character, but network sources say her entrance will be “dramatic,” which is saying a lot on Supernatural.
The series shifts to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and premieres on October 3 following Arrow.
