Amanda Tapping to Swoop Into Supernatural Season 8
Amanda Tapping will be swooping into Supernatural Season 8 in a significant recurring role.
According to showrunner Jeremy Carver, the British actress will portray Naomi, someone Carver outlines as “cool and mysterious, part of a new group of angels we’ve never seen before.”
Tapping is best known for extended runs on Stargate and Sanctuary. She will debut on "A Little Slice of Kevin," the season's seventh episode.
Supernatural returns on Wednesday, October 3. It precedes the series premiere of Arrow.

I agree she's not a British actress but a Canadian one. I can't wait to see her role. I hope they carry her role over a few seasons. I'm looking forward to having Cass back though.
@Chris Her accent in Sanctuary was meant to sound like a British accent that's been soften by other cultures. She never intended it to be a hard British accent.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Tapping is most definitely British and not Canadian, I'm sure she has stated this fact herself and that she is indeed British. Maybe the correct term would be British born and Canadian raised. :)

Tapping is not a Brittish actress. She was born in Britain but lived most her life in Canada. If you hear her talk she has no Brittissh accent (and her accent on Sanctuary is not that great). She is phenominal but I think Canadian Actress better describes her.

Now that is a guest star worth bragging about. Supernatural gets so many sci-fi and fantasy stars to join the cast. Here's hoping that one day they can get Wayne Pygram to play a demon or David Boreanaz to play a vampire.
