I think Martha immediately knew that Kate was in the closet. She's been around the block a few times and this was not rocket science. Castle looked guilty and KB's presence had to be felt.
Marlowe and Crew continue to amaze me with each new episode. The premiere was everything I could possibly want.
Love the roundtables!!!

Favorite scene? The elevator. My wife does that to me...and I know what that means! Keep relationship secret? HELL no! Well, for a couple episodes, but that's it. Someone mentioned "90210" -- Amen. Who figures it out first? Given the huge hint he just got, Esposito. Espo forgiving Ryan? In real life, guys would hug it out. Once he figures out Beckett doesn't care, Javi will begrudgingly let it go. Happy with Kate's mother's murder storyline? Once again, HELL no! Tired of it already. Let's move on to Castle's father...

1. Favorite scenes: The opening scene; love that they are finally opening up to each other. And yeah, when Castle hugs Kate when she says the line about never being safe. That was such a powerful scene for what it says about where these two are at now.
2. Keeping the relationship a secret; for now. As others have mentioned there is a lot of comedic gold to be mined here. Any one of their friends/family could be the first to figure out, as other posters have stated, there are valid reasons for any of them to be the first.
3. Rysposito---yeah, that one is going to take some time to heal. Espo feels very betrayed by what Ryan did. Don't know what it's going to take to get them back on track, but as mentioned, good to see this being played out and not glossed over and fixed up in one episode.
4. The JB case: Good forward progress while still leaving room for further story.
So glad to have Castle back! And very happy with Caskett relationship. I think its going to add a g

"After the Storm" was nothing short of magic! In SO many ways! The intimacy Rick & Kate share, and are now able to show, is swoon-worthy! And, I think I might cry when Espo and Ryan make up. The way that all the characters care for and love one another is heart-warming!
I love that the round tables for our epic show will continue throughout the season!! They are always so much fun to read, and Christine is always such a lovely hostess!

Joyful - you are right 100% Lanie's nose is a great tool in forensics - insightful on your part plus, being a great friend & a woman she can get close enough to tell. Where was Lanie? I am sure everybody missed her...I know I did. Tremendous asset to the show and wonderful person.

I for one am disappointed to see the relationship between the two main characters be expanded and radically changed to a full-blown romance. I always enjoyed the sexual tension-type relationship and now it is all sexual relief. Now that the anticipation is all over, what else is there. Many a good show has gone down the drain by giving in to temptation to have a full romance relationship between the costars. Too bad..

I LOVED it when they fell out of bed!! LMAO...the entire episode was fabulous. I think they should keep it a secret for one or two episodes but not too long. I think Ryan will get critically injured and it will bring Esposito running to his side.... I actually think it would be hilarious if Alexis found out about their relationship first...oh so many comedic scenes could be done for that one!

Best Scene-Kate and Rick hug...when she said she'd never be safe.
1st to find out- I am hoping for Lanie.
I hope the only keep it a secret for 3 or 4 episodes.
As for Ryan and Espo...I think in Episode 6, when Rick is the lead suspect in a murder investigation. Will they become partners/friends again.
All in All the episode was Perfect. Romance,Comedy and Drama....all the reason we love Castle!!

Favorite scene? The whole dang episode!! The only reason I give it 4.75 stars out of 5.0 is because no Lanie. A truly perfect episode would include all the characters be definition for me.

The “end” of Kate’s mom’s murder case. I am happy with the explanation for why what happen, happened but it’s definitely not over. Kate’s going to get final justice, real justice, on this guy just not right now. Stana has said Kate will be like a cobra regarding this but I think she’s wrong. I think the senator is the cobra and Kate is “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi!” Or should I call her Nikki-Tikki-Tavi? LOL. :D

In regards to the bromance I think something will happen. One will end up saving the other’s life (or something just as direr) or they will find themselves really having to pull together like never before to save Castle and or Beckett and they’ll make up. (I always love the way they just drop everything whenever they think “Castkett” is in true danger – like when they realized Castle was being held hostage in “Cops and Robbers.”) Or like Carla said, Ryan will flash the puppy dog eyes and it’s over. LOL.

As to who will find out first I want to go with Espo also if only for sentimental reasons. In the pilot episode he was the one to call her out about Castle; “A control freak like you stuck with something (i.e. someone) you can’t control? This is going to be more fun than Shark Week.” LOL. He knows her too well. The real question is who will win the office pool because you just know the 12th has pool going as to when these two would finally get together. LOL.

What do you mean they can’t keep a secret??!! They kept secretes from each other for a whole year! LOL. Hello. Anyway, yes, they should keep it on the Q-T for now. I know it would probably create better drama but they need to figure out who they are as a couple first and then let everybody else put their two cents in. I think them sneaking around for a while could provide great comedy not unlike the early days of the show and allows them to keep working together. Even though Castle isn’t a cop I can’t see anyone, including the mayor, being okay with them working together if they come completely out as a couple. They will eventually have to tell Ryan, Esposito, and Lanie but they’re actually more like family at this point so they have to lump them in when telling Martha and Alexis.

I have to ask, in the most respectful way I can think of, if my perception of the morning after is correct. In a previous episode Kate stated to Richard "she was not a virgin" (during a scene when she was upset at him).. We know she is not prudish & has had man friends. I also know for a fact some women choose not to "go all the way" even though other "activities" of a very intimate nature take place. Could she have not "gone all the way" because she was saving that step for her "one man" as her unique gift to him? Rick's comment: "I HAD NO IDEA..." shocked/pleased expression & Kate's "EVEN DURING THE PART...?" then facing shyly away & having her hair cover her "blushing" cheeks...Kate"DID YOU LIKE THE PART WHEN...?" Richard"YES, I SPECIALLY LIKED THAT PART..." Castle fans, I think the writers have again surprised & amazed us...Did anybody else get somewhat of the same impression?

Yay, Round Tables are back!!
1. Favourite scene was hands down the closet scene and Kate sneaking out of Castle's place. Hilarious!
2. Agreed with most- I think they should at first, that will be a lot of fun.
3. You're all wrong haha :-p Lanie is going to smell it all over them. She's gonna be first to figure it out.
4. I think Ryan will have to prove himself somehow to Esposito. But really, Espo needs to stop sulking & get the heck over it, Ryan did the right thing. He literally saved Beckett's life.
5. I liked how they did it. 95% closure, with room for ultimate justice later on. That storyline was irritating me. Glad they can move on.

AFTER THE STORM will go down in history as one of the best examples of how to treat human interaction with wicked awesome humor & the utmost respect :) To cover a lifetime in one episode & leave us wanting more while fulfilling all our expectations...a masterpiece. My favorite scene? OMG-LOL- the last one where "nothing" is shown & yet Nathan & Stana say it all - the elevator scene is a CLASSY CLASSIC :) GONGRATULATIONS !!!

-OMG! The opening scene was cute, and sexy, and funny. Everything I could have hoped for.
-I would think Rick would want to shout it from the rooftops but keeping it a secret will probably be fun for a while.
-I'm imagining Alexis walking in on them. Awkward!
-I hope soon but it will probably take a while. At least 2 or 3 episodes.
-Yes, it's great to have answers but I can only imagine how sick it will make Kate every time she sees his face on TV. It will have to come to a head at some point.
Favourite scene - opening for sure. I loved how Castle made sure Kate is really on board. That man is just so sweet and adorable, and at the same time sexy as hell. The other favourite moment was when Beckett smacked the senator in the face. Awesome.
Should Rick and Kate keep their relationship a secret? For comedic value - yes. It will be hilarious, but only for a few episodes. They shouldn't drag the secret for too long.
Who will be the first to figure out they are together? Martha. That woman always knows what's going on.
Espo and Ryan - it will take some time. Esposito doesn't seem like a guy who forgives easily.
Kate's mother's murder storyline - it's great that we finally have a face to put behind all this. The writers left us in a good place now, because Kate found the missing piece and she got some kind of closure, but there is still room for more in that story. The senator definitely will be back at some point.
