Castle and Beckett wake up together, but are interrupted by Martha and Alexis who comes home with her first hangover. Rick makes Kate hide in the closet and she sneaks out.
Castle goes to Beckett's apartment to apologize about making her hide. She does the same thing to him when Espo shows up.
Ryan, Espo, Beckett, and Castle work on the case of Beckett's shooter. Information leads them to Senator Bracken - a corrupt politician who was responsible for Kate's mothers death.
Kate tracks him down and threatens to release the information she has on him. They make a deal to keep the information private if her and those close to her remain safe.
Beckett goes to the precinct to get her job back. She is allowed to return after her and Espo finish their suspension. She decides to use her free time to spend with Castle.
Ryan and Espo are still at odds.

Mr. Duncan - you made the transition from ALWAYS to AFTER THE STORM as smooth & delightful as a DOUBLE RAINBOW. The end result melts in our mouths...yum, yum.. Romantic, funny, dramatic & cheeky :) Who would have thought my kitchen sink had the potential to help me create a symphony? The actual theme is a WOW... with a crescendo culminating in - a thunder storm - with a shut the front door that makes Ravel's Bolero pale in comparison. Memorable transition that will remain in our hearts ALWAYS...:)
