The shooter WAS FOUND but he made himself a martyr by taking cyanide and obviously he was working for someone else. My money is on Eli's "friend" that he brought Vance, Gibbs and Ziva to talk to. I'm sure he will be the first one they go after in the next episode.....
I have to say the last 15 minutes was pretty intense and I really didn't see it coming although I did think Eli was going to tell Ziva he was dying or something......I should have seen it coming that something was going to happen to Vance's wife too because she hasn't been on in a long while. I think the last time she was on was when their nephew was in trouble.........
NCIS proved once again with this episode IMO why it is one the of top rated shows on TV right now..........

It tore my heart out to hear Ziva crying "Abba, Abba!" with tears running down her face. Many young Israelis make that cry a lot.

The powers that be on NCIS obviously don't care about their loyal fans and because they have a number one show, they just let the writers do what they want. Personally I am getting tired of watching good characters either leave or get killed with no thought for the fans. Shame on them.

This is a nit - admittedly - but it drives me up a tree when the actors say "Eye-rack" and "Eye-ran". I learned in third grade that the "I" in Iraq and Iran is short, like in Italy! These are supposed to be educated, intelligent characters. Why do the writers let the actors pronounce the country names incorrectly?

What an amazing show. I have watched NCIS since the beginning and I rate it one of my best TV programs. I was shocked to see that Leon and Ziva's loved ones were killed and I am hoping that the NCIS team finds the shooter. I hope that this episode wins an award because two people being taken away from their loved ones in a violent way is senseless and unfair. I know that I keep my loved ones close to me and pray for them daily. Good episode with great acting.

I believe Mossad commissioned this hit. Ziva will find who's responsible and handle things. Gibbs will maneuver to keep a war from happening. But Vance isn't coming back. He will retire to raise his kids.

Best episode ever. I believe both people died. Maybe Vance won't be so nice anymore. Jackie is hardly ever on anyway. I hope Ziva goes all "Mossod" and gets back to the way she was when she first came on, wild.

Best of the best!! Ziva (Cote) was absolutely amazing in this episode and had tears running down my face for her. Do hope Mrs Vance is a faked death for whatever reason and the powers that be revive her next week after the political ramifications are straightened out!

I think Ziva's mom is supposed to be dead, although they just mentioned it in a passing sentence. They didn't go into detail of anything. Could be that Ziva thinks she is dead and she isn't. Would be a good twist.
I don't think it is the CIA as that would make the USA the "bad guy" in this situation and would "in turn" make us an enemy of Israel.
Could be a sanctioned Israel and CIA JOINT effort. That I would believe, but there would have to be a very good reason on why Israel & the USA would want Eli dead.

@Deborah I kind of agree that it has to be Israel. (Although, I hate that idea and storyline) It can't be Iran because how would they explain not going to war with them and the USA are allies to Israel, if it was "us" that would put the USA in a very bad light. The writers must tread carefully here because this show is shown in Israel, so they shouldn't come out looking like the bad guy either. I know....it was a random drive by. lol and they were after Vance not Eli..lol

This is why this show is #1, such great story lines and great acting. It's so riveting and keeps you wanting to come back for more. Each week is better than the one before. I never miss it and if I have be out of the house at that time I record. They should win every award that it is up for.

I believe the shooting was sanctioned by the Israelis to get Eli out of the way. I was heartbroken to see so much death to our "family" of NCIS, and am waiting anxiously for the resolution to this tragedy. Mark Harmon has the most wonderful way of saying so much without ever uttering a word. Though it is only a show, my deepest condolences go out to Leon and Ziva as they try to get their heads around such a senseless massacre...right in their own back yard , as it was. Cudos on an excellent show leaving us once more on the edge of our seats!

There is no better TV than this show. Not only are the main characters fantastic, but every other minor character they bring to the show is just as fantastic and endearing. While I hate losing so many (Franks, Eli, Jackie) it makes for some of the most heart-wrenching story lines ever and keeps us on seat's edge for the next episode. It was obvious that something was up with Jackie when she showed up in Leon's office. However, I never expected what happened. They were such a loving family, I don't even know if I'll be able to watch him break this news to their children. Gibb's stoic stance keeping vigil waiting for word on Jackie was classic, and Ziva was absolutely believable in her heartbreak and shock. How this show is never recognized for superb story lines and acting is an absolute mystery to me.

So will these led to Ziva having her own Mexico type event like gibbs has with the man who kill his wife
I agree on the great performances of Cote and Rocky, but I was also touched by Mark Harmon. Watching him waiting at the hospital, the look on his face as he waited for Leon and the compassion in his eyes when Leon told him Jackie was dead...if anyone can relate to losing the love of your life in a senseless death it is Gibbs.

SHOCKING ! that was what I felt at the end of the episode. I cried for Ziva when she lost her Dad. Eli David was always a good character. Hope that Tony can help Ziva through this very sad time in her life. Depressing was the idea that Mrs. Vance may have died leaving 2 little children. I hope with others that she will be alive and we'll all be able to find out next week. This has been the best episode of Season 10 to date.
Like GaryP's take on Gibbs being the voice of reason w.r.t. revenge. Expect early clues to point to the Iranians and personal revenge averted at the very last second that could have set a much bigger picture war in motion. Eventually, as the season plays out, I expect it to be internal Israeli politics that led to the assassination. Possibly the season ends with Ziva in Israel about to pull the trigger ...

@Cindy, That is what I am thinking, or rather hopeing is that they are faking Jackie's death. I don't see a point to it either and would be very disapointed if she is really dead. I mean she doesn't have a major on screen role, so why not let her live off screen as an occasional mention. Why kill her off. We have enough drama with Ziva's dad being dead and all of the ramifications from it, why add Jackie's death too. Vance would still have a great story too. It could of been written, that his butt and job is on the line because Eli got kill at his home and no "higher up" was suppose to know he was in town. That would have been a great story for him, while Ziva had the emotional part of the story. Why add two main characters going through the death of a love one at the same time?

That show was the best yet. Cote was unbelievably great in this episode. I cried when she screamed Abba. She really is a wonderful actress.
I was wondering if Vance is trying to let everyone think that his wife is dead to try to protect her. I'm not sure what the purpose of killing her off the show was. I like Rocky Carroll but we just went through his almost dying in season 8 and then his trauma from having his car be the bomb.
Ziva: I'm sorry if I hurt you in all of this. It was never intended. Tony, I care too much about our…friendship. I do not want it to be awkward betwee...
