Grey's Anatomy Review: This Is a Family

at . Comments

Even after all of these seasons, you still can’t help but love Grey’s Anatomy. Especially when it come sout with an episode such as "The Face of Change," an installment that has all your favorite parts wrapped up in just 60 minutes. Let’s talk about it.

Sneaking Around. Normally when you think of the docs sneaking around, it’s with each other. Not this time. All of the leads banded together to take on a trauma patient without the ER. Even with the new cast, this felt like old times. The group sticking together, covering for each other and doing its best to perform the medicine they were trained to do.

It didn’t hurt that Cristina was yelling out her dwarf names: Happy... Mouse...Ponytail...Dopey...

This was a risky move and not totally realistic anywhere other than Seattle Grace Mercy West. The writers did an excellent job in bringing in the patient by way of April and her new potential paramedic boyfriend. Way to tie things in in a sensible way.

Docs In Surgery

Competition Time. In an attempt to sell the hospital to Pegasus, Jackson and Alex were put in the running to be the brand ambassador. This led to some hilarious one-liners that are worth checking out on the Grey’s Anatomy quotes page.

The not official girlfriends were into the competition as well. Stephanie and Jo went to bat for their guys regarding who should be the mug of the hospital. Again: hilarious.

But, of course, it was Derek’s gorgeous face that made its way onto the elevator doors. Even though it was a little creepy looking, you can’t go wrong with McDreamy.

It is not a horse. It’s a pegasus. The company looking to buy SGMW owns another hospital that Callie and Webber went to check out. These two have such great chemistry together. First playing husband and wife, then again as reps from Pegasus. I knew it would be Callie that would break about the hospital and come up with the idea to buy it. The thing I didn’t expect? That Richard has an early retirement package waiting for him. Personally, I don’t want to see a Grey’s Anatomy episode without James Pickens Jr. in it.

Jalex? Looks like the worst kept secret will be coming true sooner rather than later. Jo and Alex are definitely on the path towards a couple - and it is a pretty great path. Everyone sees it, Meredith told Alex to go for it and by the end of the hour, it looked like Alex saw it for himself. Seriously, these two need to happen now.

Side Notes

  • Alex did the voiceovers in this episode. Pretty cool way to change things up.
  • How cute are April and Matthew, the paramedic cutie?
  • How much do you hate Cahill?
  • Check out the EXCLUSIVE TV Fanatic interview with Constance Zimmer on her character.

Overall, another great episode from Shondaland. What did you think, TV Fanatics? Were you a fan of “The Face of Change?” What do you think will happen next? Will the plane crash victims buy the hospital? Will Richard retire?

Sound off below and don’t forget to check out the Grey’s Anatomy Round Table later in the week! Here's ABC's first promo for "Hard Bargain" ...

really good episode, since last week wasn't that good, but why does everyone have to couple off and why can't we focus on the main characters such as Bailey and Christina instead of the new interns, yawn!

Am I the only one qho gets pissed of with this Kepner + paramedic guy story? AVERY + APRIL... PLEASE... if they do not end up togehter I am going to stop watching. Seriously.

Monitoring is best done when you have a couple of data to compare. A lot of blood pressure monitors have huge memory banks storing about 80 or more readings. If you're going to buy a blood pressure monitor that's so hard to use then might as well stick with sphygmomanometer and stethoscope. automatic arm blood pressure monitor

I love Grey's Anatomy, however, I must wait until the DVD for this season so that I can fast foreward all of the scenes with the new interns. Those characters are messing up my enjoyment of the series. Please send them away so that I can watch the show (instead of reading the reviews the day after).

I liked the episode, the trauma scene felt like old times !!! I like April's new boyfriend and please don't kill him thank you very much ! Like the interns , don't know why ppl are bitching about them.
I agree with Bailey. The hospital is in this position because they sued, insurance wouldn't pay coz too many attendings on the plane, so hospital gotta pay. Hospital don't have that much money. Viewers already raised the idea of them buying the hospital, obviously that was gonna happen. But God Derek didn't come up with the idea, what a shock ! Glad Callie did, though she was not on that plain. LOVED her and Webber spying, they're so great when they're together lol.
Jo and Alex, ah...go for it man ! You got the chemistry, the "bromance" , she's hot, you not too bad yourself, yeah, why not ! See where it goes. She's crazy, but a different kinda crazy, def not the kind he's used to lol.

I disagree the hospital is in the situation because the survivors didn't sue the plane company because of some form of loyalty to the pilot (and they also never pursue what really happen with the plane) and now they are talking out their asses about something that not going to impact them much. You must forget Derek was already a multimillionaire prior to the crash as was Sloan so Callie bitching about money was dumb as I am pretty sure Sofia was set for life because of her granddad and father. All those involve in the lawsuit are lucky they didn't get asked to resign as I'm pretty sure Derek's salary hurts the hospital. And I am not sure using the plane crash would shut anyone up as it would probably just pissed the others off more as it would like the survivors are pulling the card.

Was I the only one who found it so cute when Alex told Meredith to get away from the door and let him take her place? I don't think the writers wrote that scene just to fill in time...I am so glad to see Alex in a way taking care of Mer while she is pregnant or at least looking out for her..and her looking out for his personal life! Plus, I think he might be the one ending up to be there when she goes into labor...I just have that feeling.

fine, dr. bailey is upset...she is who she is, but derrek, meredith, arizona, and cristina should look at her and ask this: were you on a plane that crashed? were you left stranded for days, with no water/food, with bugs and animals eating you? did your sister, brother, husband or wife die in front of your eyes? dear dr. bailey, let's remember why the hospital is in this situation. people died. (will she be more mad at arizona then when she finds out the money isn't coming from the insurance because 3 attendings were on the plane? i'm assuming it'll come up. or get mad at owen when it comes up that he signed off on a shotty company to fly them?) i disagree with dr. bailey.

It was such a great episode! I really enjoyed Callie and Webber's part.Mr and Mrs Plantain :D It has always come to my mind that they should be the ones to buy the hospital

I think this was the most boring episode of Grey's Anatomy ever.
