NCIS Shocker: Cote de Pablo to Depart Series

by at . Comments

The first bombshell of NCIS Season 11 has taken place months before the season premiere:

Cote de Pablo announced today that she will depart the highest-rated show on television this fall.

Pretty Ziva

“I’ve had 8 great years with NCIS and Ziva David," the actress said in a statement.

"I have huge respect and affection for Mark, Gary, Michael, David, Rocky, Pauley, Brian, Sean, all of the team and CBS. I look forward to finishing Ziva’s story.”

de Pablo's contract ran out at the conclusion of Season 10, but she will appear in the September 24 opener (titled "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot") in order to wrap up her character's story.

“We respect Cote’s decision, thank her for being an important part of the NCIS team, and for eight terrific years playing Ziva David," said CBS in a statement.

"Cote and CBS share a great respect for the NCIS audience, and we look forward to working with her and the producers on appropriate closure in this chapter of Ziva’s story.”

The actress joined NCIS in Season 3, following the exit of Sasha Alexander. She will be greatly missed by TV Fanatic and fans everywhere.

Production on Season 11 will soon get underway.

Eleven seasons for a show is too much. From time to time as regards the episodes, it's always the same. I think that tiva fans will be satisfied with Cote's departure. They will have tiva for the end and a special issue, perhaps a fatal one.

@ templar, con todo respeto, Casste y Kate........ nada que ver con Tony y Ziva.

for the Tiva shipper
Do you think Cote de Pablo’s departure spells the end for NCIS? With Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. rivaling for No. 1, I don’t see NCIS staying at the top without her, and I know many Tiva shippers are leaving the show with Cote. –Mary Catherine
OK, for one, it’s not “the end of NCIS. TV’s most watched program isn’t suddenly and abruptly going to crater because one member of a good-sized, top-notch ensemble leaves. Will its numbers get dinged? Maybe. A bit. But it’d have to lose 3 million viewers to fall behind Big Bang Theory and cease being the most watched (non-sports) program. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s more direct competition, I imagine, is The Originals, so those two will have to duke it out first before either start eating into Gibbs’ numbers.

@Michael All your thoughts prove what a sexist and racist (As evidenced by your comment on the article about what the season 11 premiere among others) person you are. Not to mention delusional.

@Michael I said this before and I'll say it again STOP... MAKING... THINGS... UP!!!

It's sad that in today world there people like Cote de Pablo think they should be paid just for being alive and being a female or a male instead of your hard work and year of services. Do you think any of the other cast memeber act like she does No why because they love the show and they know money is it everything well cote de pablo thank you for proving your as selfish off the screen as you are on the screen.

am so upset am going to miss her on NCIS, but CBS likes to give female less money it was going on another primetime show as well

Avatar

@Guest That not true at all she wanted to get paid MORE than Michael Weatherly stop blaming CBS because cote a greedy spoil brat

Talk about a double standard. CBS should have given her the raise. They hate woman actors.

It is out......CBS would not give her 225,000, which is closer to what MW earns. CBS just doesn't care about its female actors. Same amount of work for less pay. She should have gotten the raise...stupid CBS !!!!
