My family’s been here a long, long time.

With those words at the conclusion of True Detective Season 1 Episode 7, viewers finally took one step ahead of Marty and Rust, as the identity of the man with the scars was finally revealed.

There's still a long way to go before this story wraps up, however, and just one episode with which to do it.

In the following promo for True Detective Season 1 Episode 8, we see a man confessing that it's been weeks since he "left his mark," while a petrified woman tells Rust and Marty that "he's coming for you" and these partners appear to enter Carcosa’s cave.

What does it all mean? How will it all end? We can't wait to find out.
