Below, TV Fanatics Ashley Bisette Sumerel and Christine Orlando are joined by Bones fan, Pam, as they debate Booth’s vasectomy Arastoo and Cam’s future plans, Aubrey’s smoothie, and their favorite quotes from Bones Season 12 Episode 3...
Should Booth have the vasectomy?
Ashley: Well, that depends on what he and Brennan ultimately decide in terms of having more children, but I think he should be open to it if they decide they don't want more children.
Pam: No, they may decide they want more children. There are a few more years where they can or may change their minds and have another one.
Christine: It is a permanent decision so they both need to be sure. But if they do decide they don’t want more kids, I’d like to think Booth would be open to the option. It’s a lot easier and less drastic than Brennan having surgery for the same result.
Do you hope to see Arastoo and Cam adopt a child?
Ashley: I think that would be wonderful to see if we had another season, but I'll be happy just seeing them get married and knowing what their plans are by the end of Bones season 12.
Pam: That would be nice, but I think first they need to spend some time alone as a married couple before bringing a child into the fold, get used to each other first.
Christine: I love the idea of them adopting one of the many refugee children who need a home. It really makes me wish that we had another season to explore that story.
Is there any reason you would drink a black kale and chia smoothie?
Ashley: If it had some berries, yogurt, and honey, sure! I've put kale in smoothies before. It's fine if you add enough sweet things, but I don't think Aubrey did that...
Pam: No way! It sounded and looked horrible. I doubt Aubrey is going to make it on this health drink diet.
Christine: I’m with Pam. I’ve put some spinach in my smoothie but kale and chia? I’m not sure there’s enough berries and honey to make that taste good. If Jessica expects him to keep that diet up, I think they’re in trouble.
What one question do you hope gets answered before the end of the series?
Ashley: I would love clear answers about Zack before the show ends.
Pam: What does 447 mean and why was it thrown in almost every season and popped up with serial killers being involved?
Christine: They’re are lots, but right now I want to know what’s going on with Max. I hope they don’t keep us hanging too long about his health issues, if that's what it is.
What was the best Bones quote from “The New Tricks in the Old Dogs”?
Ashley: My favorite was regarding Booth's vasectomy, when Brennan took his analogy a step further:
Booth: I'm a sniper, you hear me, and snipers they do not fire blanks.
Brennan: And in that analogy, my ovaries are what, target practice?
Pam:
Booth, why are you covering yourself? I'm not going to perform the procedure myself, in a car.

He was squirming in the drivers seat while she told him what she had in mind for him if they didn't want to have any more children.
Christine: I love those two, so I’ll go with Hodgins describing his grandfather…

What was your favorite moment or scene from this episode?
Ashley: There were a lot of nice moments in this episode, but I really enjoyed watching Cam and Arastoo talk about adopting. It was just a sweet moment.
Pam: Discovering Bones and Booth still have a love life as they discussed if he should or shouldn't have a vasectomy. We never see them kiss or hold hands with any passion for several seasons now since Emily gave birth in real life to her second son. Nice to know off screen Bones and Booth are still active with their marriage arousal's.(ha,ha) As a viewer their love story and courtship as well as marriage is the main reason I watch Bones but it has been slim pickings for romance the past seasons; a real drought!
Christine: I loved Brennan talking about how even though she doesn’t think she wants another child, she’s still open to the unexpected, because it might bring her joy. And I’ll admit that her telling Booth, “You will bag the sniper and I will stay on the pill.”
