Recap

History was made on this week's American Idol results show. Why? No one was sent home!

Matt Giraud received the fewest number of votes, but Simon Cowell and company delivered their first-ever judges' save, telling the Michigan native that he was safe for elimination. At least for this week.

We weren't overly impressed by Giraud's encore rendition of "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman," but the panel apparently were. Or they were simply anxious to make a few headlines.

Cowell did tell Giraud and company to chill with their excitement, however: "Two people are going home next week now. And, next week is disco week."

Among other developments last week:

- Ryan Seacrest told Lil Rounds that she was "going to have to endure the competition one more week, at least." Ouch!

- Allison Iraheta was the first singer to be told she was safe this week.

- Miley Cyrus sang "The Climb." The contestants pretended as though they didn't all know they were clearly better singers than the Disney star.

- Jennifer Hudson received a standing ovation for her new song "If This Isn't Love."
