Bill and Virginia continue working separately with their new partners, Nancy and Art. Bill and Nancy work with a couple where the wife wants her husband to be rougher during sex. Bill wonders if she has some childhood abuse, but it turns out it was the husband who did. Virginia and Art work with a woman who wants to achieve multiple orgasms. She gets some help from a man who had a sexual encounter with Betty while she was working as a prostitute. 

Dan's wife, Alice, shows up to the clinic after Virginia leaves messages on Dan's voicemail. Virginia reveals to Alice that she slept with another man the day she was supposed to marry Dan. Alice feels pity for Virginia. Later, Bill and Alice run into each other at his AA meeting. She reveals to him that Dan and Virginia never married. Bill has the realization that his feelings for Virginia only torture him. 

Lester reveals to Bill and Virginia, through photos he took, that Nancy and Art are married. Virginia convinces Bill to let them stay as their associates. 

Libby meets a flirtatious man named Bram Keller. Unbeknownst to her, he will be acting as Bill's attorney. When Libby discovers who he is, she is outraged when he asks her to be a character witness for Bill's trial.
