After refusing to attend a concert with Manny and Gloria, Jay stopped by a restaurant for a drink on this episode, only to run into Mitchell, Cameron and their very gay friend. The result was a joyous, drunk evening that led to a hangover for Jay and an awkward following morning:
He forgot that he agreed to drive out to record store with Pepper (a returning Nathan Lane) and Gloria wouldn't cover for him because he bailed in the concert. At least Jay's relaxed, fun actions the night before endeared him to Mitchell a bit.
Elsewhere:
- Haley actually did a very good job babysitting Lily, except that she tried to sneak Dylan over.
- Luke befriended an elderly neighbor who his parents assumed was mean and maybe dangerous. But they ended up seeing the sweet side to the man in the end.
