    I thought it was because she was allergic to local anesthetics... She told Amelia she knew where the best meetings were (I assume for Alcoholics Anonymous).

    She was addicted in the past to pain medication, so no painkillers now.

    This was a very moving and powerful episode. Ms. Strickland does an outstanding job portraying the incident and bringing this important issue to the forefront. The writing on Private Practice is wonderful - it is by far my favorite tv show.
